AHS is a rip off. When I bought my house I was told this and that and do not worry - just include it in your coverage which the seller will pay for the first year. Then you can renew the years later. Called them twice about things one would assume are covered (roof leak and pool lights not working). Was told that since wind was associated with the piece of roofing coiming loose it was not covered (act of God) and that the lights were not covered in the pool but for $50 dollars someone can come out, look at it and tell you it was not covered.
my cell phone rang, I answered and they hung up -
They called around 1:45 PM, but when I said "Hello" I just heard a long pause, then a computer beep, so I hung up because I don't like computer calls passing me around, and I don't like any sales calls on my cell phone. This seems to be American Home Shield (AHS) calling, which makes sense because I did have their coverage for 12 months after I bought my house in 2006, but I did not like their coverage. I had to pay $50 per plumber or heating visit, for the repairman to do something that they would have charged me $45 to do. On top of that, AHS refused to have the repairmen do more than one covered repair per visit. I would have to pay another $50 for an additional visit at another time. That's lousy coverage that is worthless to me.
