I've been getting these calls a few times here and there, I didn't understand why cause all my bills are up to date and then finally a human person left a message asking for someone I did not know, at that moment I remembered that I recently c****ed my phone number and these goofy collection calls are intended for the person who used to have my "new" number... so annoying.
REPORT THIS COMPANY FOR DEPT COLLECTOR VIOLATIONS? Report any problems you have with a debt collector to your state Attorney General’s office (www.naag.org) and the Federal Trade Commission (www.ftc.gov). Many states have their own debt collection laws that are different from the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Your Attorney General’s office can help you determine your rights under your state’s law.The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation’s consumer protection agency, enforces the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), which prohibits debt collectors from using abusive, unfair, or deceptive practices to collect from you.A debt collector may not contact you at inconvenient times or places, such as before 8 in the morning or after 9 at night, unless you agree to it. And collectors may not contact you at work if they’re told (****ly or in writing) that you’re not allowed to get calls thereHow can I stop a debt collector from contacting me?If a collector contacts you about a debt, you may want to talk to them at least once to see if you can resolve the matter – even if you don’t think you owe the debt, can’t repay it immediately, or think that the collector is contacting you by mistake. If you decide after contacting the debt collector that you don’t want the collector to contact you a***n, tell the collector – in writing – to stop contacting you. Here’s how to do that:Make a copy of your letter. Send the original by certified mail, and pay for a “return receipt” so you’ll be able to do***ent what the collector received. Once the collector receives your letter, they may not contact you a***n, with two exceptions: a collector can contact you to tell you there will be no further contact or to let you know that they or the creditor intend to take a specific action, like filing a lawsuit. Sending such a letter to a debt collector you owe money to does not get rid of the debt, but it should stop the contact. The creditor or the debt collector still can sue you to collect the debt. Every collector must send you a written “validation notice” telling you how much money you owe within five days after they first contact you. This notice also must include the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money, and how to proceed if you don’t think you owe the money. If you send the debt collector a letter stating that you don’t owe any or all of the money, or asking for verification of the debt, that collector must stop contacting you. You have to send that letter within 30 days after you receive the validation notice. But a collector can begin contacting you a***n if it sends you written verification of the debt, like a copy of a bill for the amount you owe. What practices are off limits for debt collectors?Harassment. Debt collectors may not harass, oppress, or abuse you or any third parties they contact. For example, they may not:use threats of violence or harm; publish a list of names of people who refuse to pay their debts (but they can give this information to the credit reporting companies); use obscene or profane language; or repeatedly use the phone to annoy someone. False statements. Debt collectors may not lie when they are trying to collect a debt. For example, they may not:falsely claim that they are attorneys or government representatives; falsely claim that you have committed a crime; falsely represent that they operate or work for a credit reporting company; misrepresent the amount you owe; indicate that papers they send you are legal forms if they aren’t; or indicate that papers they send to you aren’t legal forms if they are. Debt collectors also are prohibited from saying that:you will be arrested if you don’t pay your debt; they’ll seize, garnish, attach, or sell your property or wages unless they are permitted by law to take the action and intend to do so; or legal action will be taken a***nst you, if doing so would be illegal or if they don’t intend to take the action. Debt collectors may not:give false credit information about you to anyone, including a credit reporting company; send you anything that looks like an official do***ent from a court or government agency if it isn’t; or use a false company name. Unfair practices. Debt collectors may not engage in unfair practices when they try to collect a debt. For example, they may not:try to collect any interest, fee, or other charge on top of the amount you owe unless the contract that created your debt – or your state law –allows the charge; deposit a post-dated check early; take or threaten to take your property unless it can be done legally; or contact you by postcard. Yea, so I'm a little late on my loan payment. Oopsies.
At about 1:30 p.m. CDST, I received a phone call on my cell phone with a recorded message - a man's voice. In English and then in Spanish, he said that he was from CCA calling on behalf of AT&T, that I must call 877-384-0290 immediately due to a "time sensitive matter". I immediately called the 877 number. The office was closed and open on Mondays - Thursdays 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Fridays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sa****ays 8 a.m. to noon. I googled "CCA" and discovered that it is a collection agency. All of my bills, even with AT&T are current. Therefore, because of the cir***stances of this robo call, I believe it to be fraudulent, bogus, a phishing expedition.
The switch between a few different numbers to try to catch you off guard. The company has left me messages identifying them as CCA. If we're on the National Do Not Call registry, how do they get our numbers?Let us know what we need to do to stop them!
Harrassment
annoying recorded phone call saying it was urgency that I call back
They are leaving messages that I need to call back
yeah, right me too, they keep doing the same thing to me.Let's get these guys out of business. How do we do that?Help!!!
These people have been calling a couple of times a week on behalf of AT&T. I have always paid my bills on time but just in case I called AT&T to confirm that there was nothing wrong with my account. No one in costumer service or in the collection dept could find ANYTHING wrong with my account.
I was to sue this company who use this number to bother people
I just got a call from 708-342-2370 asking for my ex-boyfriend. They say he left my number as a secondary contact number. Last I heard he lived in TX and I'm in CA. I have no idea how or where they got my number since my ex and I broke up 7 years ago and haven't spoken since and I am now married with a new last name. This really bothers me. Well at least they said they will take my number off their list. I just don't know how they found me to begin with...
This collection agency is obviously a pile of s**t. All my bills are up to date, I never miss payments. My credit is great. They have called me 3 times in the last 5 days with the same bu***hit voice mail. These people are ****S.
They have called at least once a day for the past 3 weeks and leave 877-384-0290 as their call back number. They never say who they are calling for, they just leave a message on my cell phone. Today I tried to catch the call before it went to my voicemail but it was only a recorded message about a time sensitive matter. So I called the 708-342-2370 back to see who it belonged to and received another recorded message that this was CCA. I owe no one and there is absolutley no reason to have a collection agency calling me on a daily basis.
I owe ***ody. I own my own home free and clear. My monthly bills are up to date. What fool organization has so much GD time on their hands that they can phone bank random calls with "important news regarding your file" and I must speak with "you". There is not a single definitive word in their bu***hit message. My suggestion? Call Barack Obama and see if he gives a rats a** in a klon**** about this situation. If he doesn't then I don't either. The FCC should do so****ing about these f***heads.
Got a call from this number, it rang once then ***g up. Annoying. Too bad there's not a way to block calls.
The automated message neither identified the calling company nor the intended target of the call. It said it had been trying to reach "me" several times. It also said it was important that "I" respond today. Of course I did not respond to the demand that I call an 877 number.
they are so rude and annoying... they wanted to talk to my grandmother and im like she is not here..and ask who you? they said CCA, and im like well what does that stand for? Well if you are not then it doesn't concern you and ***g up.
I get 2-3 of these calls a day. They are so annoying. And if it is that important, why do they always have a recorded message. How can I get them to stop calling me!
Yep, they left a message claiming that I owed money on an account. Then they left a different phone number for me to call back. I did not call back.
They keep calling a leave as message that "this is a time sensitivecall and they want a call back today". The call back number is877-384-0290
I got a call from them. Wondered who they were. Called them back and immediately figured out they were a collection agency.
