I know them well. ACMG is a collection agency located in Tustin, Orange county. They are a junk debt buyer (buy debt from another creditor for penny per dollar) and pretty new to this business. Their office is real small so maybe 3 or 4 workers could work in there. A legal department? That's big joke. They are not such a big organization. Calling you and saying 'trying to serve summon' is their very typical way of threatening you. They do this when they actually haven't sued you which is illegal. They may call you and claim that they are government official such as IRS. Don't fall for that. IRS never call you. In fact, almost everything they do is violation of FDCPA. FCRA. Check your credit report and see if they put anything bad on your report. Also keep check your court record. They may sue you but not serve you for long time so that you don't get enough time to answer. The names that they give you are all fake names. Do not trust anything they says.If they call you, simply tell them to, "do everything in writing and don't call.". If you says so, they MUST follow this or they are violating FDCPA.Or, get their address and send a letter to demand to stop phone calls with certified mail. This will serve you as proof if you have to sue them for FDCPA violations later.
