Jim Received a call from them with no message left. Redialed the number and reached an automated message that it was from the NY****ociation of Police Chiefs, and that they would be calling back soon. I have gleaned from other sites that they are NOT truly with the police, but a scammer. I am on the Do Not Call list, but since they are/are pretending to be a charity, it's probably not forbidden for them to call. However, I believe it IS forbidden to portray oneself as a Police official. I am awaiting their return call to get more information about them.
