They are also operating as "Shapiro and Price".  What a bunch of A-Fkrs.  They thought they were so smooth - but when you threaten me on the phone with encarceration for a debt I don't even owe and won't provide do***entation to prove I DO owe anything - just **** it ****s!

I have received phone calls from these people too.  I will not do business with them unless they also send me so****ing.  I did at one time pay off a bill this way (by phone) never got a credit to the actual account and never saw my money a***n.  I paid the bill twice.  I will not do business this way with people anymore.  The only thing they can do is put the info on your credit report.  If you are taking out payday loans then you are probably not worried about it any more than I am right now....

Scott Wheat Law also calls from numbers 877-217-1194 and 866-377-5434 state I have a case with them and I have to call them back.  They even tell me Good Luck.  Wth?  LOL!

They do send anything i have asked for months for a letter all they want to do is end you a fax or an email.  I reported them to the FTC and all so I think everyone should

What a bunch of goons. They got me on their first call.  They told me it was fraud to close my bank account and not pay back a Loan.  I never closed my account.  The bank did. I stopped payment and moe they say I have to call back in 24 hours. They told me they would put me in jail for fraud. Me smith is the person I spoke with. Told me to wait that he needed to make sure it was not out sent to the courts. Then came back and said he caught it before it was sent.  Wanted 700 from me now.  Then called after o canceled payment and said the lawyers were upset the money didn't go thru. I was able to find. Website. It says they are debt collectors attempting to collect a debt.

What address did you send the cease letter too?  I am having the same problem. They are even calling my mother, who is elderly and doesn't live with me.  They say I put her name as a reference. Bull!!!  I questioned whether they were attorneys and boy they threatened to take my property away and serve me with papers and the whole bit.  I have a consumer law firm working on this matter and everyone else should to the same to shut them down. I have never felt so degraded in my life.

Tell them you are recording your conversation & see how ****ed they get!  They will tell you that they do not authorize for the conversation to be recorded.  Then THEY **** UP ON YOU!  Yeah...some law office!

I asked for do***entation - too.  I told them I would not do business with them over the phone & if they were really a law office - they would know how to officially send do***entation in the mail - CERTIFIED - RETURN Receipt.  I will see if they send anything.  If they do not - well....take me to court then!!  I do not know what debt they are talking about - I do not recall owing anything & if I did - I would definitely not give them any financial information over the phone!  They do not do business like a regular law office would.

I have received several phone calls from the Law Offices of Scott Wheat with both the 716-568-***3 and also 866-377-5434 numbers.  In both cases a recorded message stated that they were "From the Law Office of Scott Wheat and that I was being afforded the opportunity to call them IMMEDIATELY to settle case no ###" I wanted to research this "Law Firm" before I called back because I have heard some pretty shady things about people claiming to work for Law firms but really nasty bottom feeding debt collectors; well you can imagine my surprise after resear****g scam websites as well as just typical blogs (such as this one) the information I have found out.. I plan to call this number and ask that they send me do***entation of what I owe via certified letter; I also plan to ask for their Texas Bar No#. I know they will try to c****e the subject and threaten me. I'm a Paralegal; I  just can't wait to read them Texas Law regarding debt collection over the phone; I will not deal with a company that won't send me do***entation of my debt. And I guarantee people that any Judge would agree.

Think "high school dropout who is trying to make good after either a jail term or failing to pay his or her own debt" and that will give you a good idea of the average fraudulent debt collector.  If you can envision street hustlers who stop pedestrians at night in Las Vegas or odd individuals who work the side shows at the carnivals, then you will be very close to capturing the correct image.  These are not people you would invite into your living room to speak to you, so why speak to them on the phone about anything?

From other postings, it seems that National Recovery Group or NR Group has c****ed their name to "The Law Office of Scott Wheat," in what may be an attempt to trick people into believing that the people placing the calls are lawyers, which would be a serious FDCPA violation.  In various 800notes postings, people have stated than these debt collectors announce that they are calling "from the Law Office of Scott Wheat."  This may falsely imply they are lawyers or that perhaps they are working for a lawyer.  When questioned whether they were an attorney or not, they have referred to themselves as "litigators."  This may falsely imply that they are someone who practices law.According to various sources, this company has identified or registered themselves as:"The Law Office of Scott Wheat""The Law Office of Scott and Wheat""Advanced Data Mining Solutions""Southern Capital and****ociates""NRG Billing, LLC""NRG &****ociates""National Recovery Group""NR Group"The listed address is the same as National Recovery Group's or NR Group's address of:305 Cayuga Rd., Buffalo, NY 14225The numbers that "The Law Office of Scott Wheat" are reported as using are:866-279-6888877-847-6680 (one of NR Group's old numbers)716-568-***3877-877-3074716-568-***3877-847-6675 (one of NR Group's old numbers)877-847-6674 (one of NR Group's old numbers)716-362-4898 (one of NR Group's old numbers)877-847-6679 (one of NR Group's old numbers)716-565-2316If you want more postings on NR Group, AKA, National Recovery Group, look up these numbers:877-847-6680877-847-6681716-362-4891716-362-4898716-565-2319877-847-6675877-847-6674877-847-6679 It appears that NR Group or National Recovery Group may have reincorporated themselves once a***n.  If it's like their last three re-births, they are running from lawsuits by c****ing their name.

The number they left me was 866-279-6888 and they leave me messages almost daily saying "they can't help me if I don't call them back."  It's some lady at ext 520. I called the number below and oddly enough it's the same place.  Figures!  I thought it was so****ing really pressing but NOPE!  So ***** them and I will tell them I'm recording them if they ever reach me. I usually never answer my phone anyhow.....because well creditors call me far too often!  ugh

I agree as well cancel it, have them send you proof in writing and if it is your debt reply in writing with what you can afford and enclose a  cashier check or money order for payment, never a credit card or check. If they're shady they could try and charge or debit the entire amount...

cancel your credit card asap....the owners are driving nice cars that you are paying these people....don't pay anything to these stubborn bottom feeders of collections...get your proof and then take it to your lawyer...make them send you a letter most of the time they will never send one even if you ask for one...they are ripoffs and lots and lots of compaints to the AG...look them up they don't even have a website for their company they are not even ligitimate

I got the same message as everyone else.   I have a payment pending but I think I need to cancel my credit card ASAP!   Your thoughts please.   Payment is supposed to hit on Monday.

They call me all the time! They are rude and never take what I can give. All they want is what they want. If they really wanted to resolve the issue they woulod work with the client. My lawyer said to offer what you can a month; even if it is $5.00; if they refuse then you are not obligated to pay them . You can disput the claim. This is how I got them off my back for a few months. My lawyer sent them a letter and the calls stopped. However, they have s****ed a***n. my lawyer said to do***ent all calls and record them when they do to show proof of them harrassing me and threatening to take all my****ets despite my effort to make a payment plan. When I tell them I am recording them ; they **** up quick. Legitament company; I don't think so...

They look up the past occupant and try to call present occupant for information. They have never updated their listing as the previous one they are seeking have been deported to Mexico 6 years ago and we brought the place from HUD.

i used to work there and dan chirayath is the biggest bully of them all...they used to be the nr group, they just got official with a lawyer who lives in maryland not even around...met him one day and then gone. i would not give these people your money at all they are running a scam with the extra nsf charges thats an extra bonus check money for the managers...just go to pri****l every time with these people you be better. they are the lowest of filth around buffalo and only been around(the nr group) since september 2009

I received a call from this number on a cell phone that isn't even in my name. They asked if this is so-n-so and i said yes. The woman on the phone was very nice and polite but would not answer my questions. 1: how did you get this number, it's a busuness line and not mine, 2: i asked her to send me a certified letter stating the purpose but she says that we don't do that. I told her i was working and could not discuss this at the moment.She asked if she could leave a voice mail and if i could call after work. i said sure, but no way am i calling. If your a legit business and your talking about representation than yop better be sending me a certified letter to show to my attorny..

We got a call from this same outfit and when we asked for do***entation to be sent in the mail, the caller hemmed and hawed around and said that they would not do that. They wanted money to be paid to them to represent us in an alleged case where money was owed. The caller's manner was very unprofessional.  We told them we thought this was a scam and would not consider anything they had to offer without do***entation.
