got a text from this number that said "haha (my name)" and had a link for some work from home income program

I too got a text on my cell phone using my first name and a link to a web site advertising "Internet Income Source" Spam

Yes they sent me a text, with a link from cnbcnews23.com. Naturally I didn't click the link on my phone

sent me a link "bit.ly"...punched it into my comp and i was blocked because of spam or whatever...so don't open the link on your phone .
