This comes from Verizon, when you are eligible for a phone or service upgrade like new every two they have sales people call you and remind you that you can upgrade. If you upgrade then you drop off of this list and the calls should stop.

called myself and my husband on our cells  No message left with either one.  Within minutes received second call from212-221-***0.  Didn't answer.  no message from that one either, but my husband had a text  "HELLO"

If you pick up the phone when it is ringing, it will more than likely be a collection agency on the other end looking for any kind of info to connect you to an account or create one.  If you see the number on your caller ID and call it, you will actually connect to the actual party that the number was****igned to.It's called phone s****ing.  This is mostly done by collection agencies.  They pretend to be someone else and getting enough info from you to create an account.  Next thing you will get is a paper threat to pay so****ing in full or go to court.  Some of us have been dealing with these bottom feeders for months and years.  We have programs that track and trace these numbers and then match them to the time and dates with the phone company. None have matched the actual caller.  They also s**** themselves as your neighbors. Advice: take your bill or some proof to the phone provider and have them trace.  If you owe money or have ever in the past, you can bet places like these will be faking themselves as someone else to get the data they need. I missed this call but they left a voicemail msg stating to "please call Verizon Wireless to find out some updated options available to me". I did not call the number back.

I live in Hawaii and the phone calls come at 5:00AM. I am 6 hours behind the eastcoast.

This number has called me twice in the past week. No message was left. I, too, have been expecting several important calls.

I've gotten several calls from them in the last few days. They don't leave a message and I don't know who they are. I wasn't getting these calls for awhile, but they s****ed a***n. ARGH!

This is verizon wireless. I got the call and talked to a very nice lady. I then went to Verizon Wireless' website and chatted live with customer service who verified it was a legit call from Verizon!

Have received several calls from this number over the past week.  Finally googled it, came here and called Verizon by dialing 611 from my phone.  They said the number is on a scam watch list and offered to do a central block of the number for free, so no more calls from that number will connect to my phone.  Problem solved.I recommend if you get a call from this number, dial 611 from your phone and have them do the same.

So I call back this number and get Verizon at their Main Number (not 724-742-4342). So, the scam is that when you call back, the scammer is forwarding the calls to Verizon!So, here's how it works: If you pick up, you're the pigeon. And they'll get details about where you live and breathe and then sell the information to the VOID of the telemarket underground.Pretty slick.[a stone]

I received a call from the number 3 times now, but have not answered any of the 3 times. I haven't received a voicemail, either. However, I saw someone post that the call was from Cranberry twp, PA, which is near me. They do have a call center for Verizon located in Cranberry.

I just got a call from this number for the first time. It was "Tanya with Verizon Wireless." She asked me if I was busy and I said I was. She then said OK and ***g up. Totally unprofessional sounding. I immediately called the real Verizon Wireless and told them the number, as well as the fact that I found it under numerous internet posts. The representative told me that this is not a Verizon Wireless number. He also said that usually Verizon calls from a 1-800 number. He said it was maybe a store calling, but he found that unlikely. He said I could have the number blocked if they call 5-6 times (repeatedly). If they call a***n, I'll have them blocked because I'm on the Do Not Call list.

this number called my cell phone, did not call it back.  Not sure how they got cell number, but don't call it may end up costing you a lot of money for calling it back.  the number is out of Pennsylvania.tell your friends not to call or answer this number 724-742-4342

I also received a call from this number today.  Decided to look online and call Verizon *611 afterward.  I gave the Verizon rep the information including the telephone number that had called me and the time that it happened.  The rep informed me that it was in fact a Verizon Rep that called from the 724 number and he apologized for causing any concern.

same thing as WG- no message but calling a lot and no message- glad I checked here.  I've also been waiting for an important call too and when I missed this call I was nervous that I had missed the important call- glad I didn't-- I hoped that the important call would leave a message!

Got the call on my cell phone and "Becky" left the same message which Scott described.

This number sent me a text that read,"PLEASE CALL".When I sent a text ("Who is this?") I did not get a reply.I do not enjoy prank phone calls.):

Annoying, but not a scam.  Message clearly states "VAW, LLC," which can be verified as Verizon through a quick Google search.  Supplemental toll-free number, (800) 416-8328 does not seem to be registered, hence finding the 'do not call' loophole.

Received call from 724-742-4342/ man stated he was from verizon & needed to discuss my account with  me... told him to call back but then checked it out online.TOTAL SCAM!i'm reporting to verizon.

Same message that was left for "SARAH" was left on my phone.  Made me mad because I thought it was really important, been expecting an important phone call.

I saw this number on my phone from 5/21, and did reverse lookup. I saw the Cranberry Tw PA on my caller ID. So glad I looked this up when I found nothing. Thanks everyone for the info!

I received a call from this number and they ***g up when I answered.  I don't have any good info but I like this website.  I didn't know it existed until today.

Called me this afternoon 5/19, said they were Verizon with handset offers.  Definitely a scam!

Didn't recognize number, therefore i didn't answer.  They left a VM and said it was verizon with some new handset offers that i might be eligible for.  I just bought a new handset in December, Don't need a new one. Beware of scam.

Called Verizon and its a scam, they have no record of this number. Do not give them any information and report the call ASAP.

I hope it isn't a scam, I gave them my last 4 of my soc. and my phone number when I called back. I did get an automated Verizon message explaining home service.

I recieved a call from this number.  The message said to call them back at 877-483-5255, and it was for a complimentary calling plan review.I tried back from my office phone and I got a recording that said "Welcome to voice genie" but nothing else.

A Sales Rep. who's name was Tawnya from Verizon called me to tell me about some ****** new items Verizon has to offer.

Received a call from Heath, who said he was my new Verizon account rep.  Reverse look up the area code & exc****e-turns out it's from Cranberry Twp in Pennsylvania-highly doubt he's from Verizon
