I receive several calls a day from this number, but when I pick up, they **** up as soon as I say*****o. No message. I have no debt.
OR maybe the post is the collection agency trying to get you to call them back...I have yet to have any of them being nice...Ask for the original debt to be provided, they have to show you who its owed to originally....send them a letter requesting this info and tell them to not contact you until after they have provided the debt so you can verify it yourself. There are places out there that are trying to collect on debts already paid...or they have no right to the debt...they just got a hold of your credit report and want to cause fear and panic....when in doubt DON'T....ask and check into.....never say you owe it until your sure....never give them your account numbers or agree to automatic payments? They have to take pmt...GET MONEY ORDERS.....if they don't want to take pmts...keep the do***entation...record the calls...tell them you are recording the call, if you cannot tell them you are writing down the exact conversation, date and time, get their name and spelling and direct phone number.....we are not trying to get out of paying...but trying to make sure we are paying who is suppose to be paid....and WHAT ever you pay...keep it in a file...we just had someone call for a bill I settled out and paid over a year ago...now someone is trying to collect on it...A***N...
its a collection agency in the twin cities ... i talked to them and they were easy to work with and understanding. they found out i was a student and said that they are willing to work with me and my living situation in order to help me pay off my debt as fast as possible while not expecting a large payment at once. they're helpin me out so maybe you should just ask for a different worker.
