Leave a CommentI answered a phone call from a man with a slight Indian accent named Michael Smith. He s****ed to inform me I had been named as a primary suspect in a case by the IRS... I then ***g up. He called my cell phone back and left a message saying, "Micheal Smith. You have been listed as a primary suspect in a case filed by IRS. Call back at 786-398-9367 immediately before we proceed with any legal action. If you fail to call back we cannot be responsible for any legal action in the future. Good bye." I looked up the phone number he left on the Internet and found others have been contacted by the same culprit, and was advised to file a complaint.
I received a voicemail from 786-398-9367 said he was Sgt. Mike Johnson. You can tell by his voice he is Muslim, from India or ****stan. Anyway, he said I had to call him immediately! I have a warrant for my arrest and it is very serious I have been involved. What a joke , I knew he was an IDIOT cause I've never been in Florida for one and I've never been arrested. Dumb .***
My mom received a call yes****ay from this KEVIN FOSTER. He said he was a investigator with the IRS and my mom would receive a summons in the morning and if she wasn't there to receive it, she would be locked up for 90 days. He said she owed $3213 dollars to the IRS and she had two options (1) to resolve the issue through an OIC (OFFER IN COMPROMISE). OR (2) Be home the next morning to receive a summons and take it to court, but she would most likely be convicted of tax fraud, as the IRS had substantial proof. What a nerve wrecking call this was. I took the call for my mom and I wrote all this information down, bc the man sounded fairly official. I agreed for my mom to do the OIC, and he kept asking when I could pay. I told him to give me the address to where I would pay it, and he wouldn't. He kept making me say that we agree and she would resolve it with an OIC and he made me give him an amount that would be paid. Well, he kept saying he would go to the "higher authority" to check if they would accept the money we would put down. While he did this, I gave my mom the phone and went on another phone and called his number. His voicemail was very unofficial. Then I called my local police department and they told me to **** up on the guy; that this is a scam aimed towards older people. Lucky for us, we didn't get scammed, but we almost did because it sounded so official. And even with knowing that you're not guilty of so****ing, the guy made it sound like you were. He even listed all the charges - Count 1 , 2, 3, 4 under what would be considered Tax Fraud.
