I saw several incoming calls from this # on my caller ID and finally decided to answer. A man with heavy Indian accent verified my full name and told me about a complaint filed a***nst me by U.S. immigration office regarding my I-94 clearance. Not knowing anything about I-94, I told him I don't know what he is talking about and why was he calling. He asked me to hold on for USCIS General Counsel. I knew this was a scam and ***g up. He called a***n angry and rude...why did you **** up? I said I can't hear you and he insisted that I could because I answered.him. I told him I don't know what he was talking about and that I am not from India. He insisted that I was Indian and born in India (based on my last name) and commented...****** illegal Indian. I said prove it, he said he will if hold on for half a minute....and he connect me to another Indian man imitating British accent. This man identified himself as the General Counsel of INS and called my full name. I said that is not my name and he got angry and s****ed cursing (four letter words). I asked him to give me his name, ID number and continue talking so that record his call because no immigration officer in the U.S. would talk like him. He immediately ***g up. Guess who had the final laugh.****s.

WE the American people are left to defend ourselves cause I haven't heard once how or what our Government is doing to stop these scam artist from preying on it's people. Especially when these scammers are using their info to s**** the caller id. Shame how they are just siting on their thumbs and getting of from it.
These guys are frauds. They had a similar scam a couple of months ago with the IRS.
Why would this number not have enough respect to leave a message ?
From http://blog.uscis.gov/2013/08/scam-alert-caller-id-s****ing.html “Scammers are using a technique called “Caller ID s****ing” to display a misleading or inaccurate phone number in a recipient’s Caller ID” “USCIS never asks for any form of payment or personal information over the phone “ “Often, scammers will threaten victims with deportation or other negative consequences if they do not pay. “If you receive a call like that, USCIS urges you to **** up immediately. “
"Kevin Jones" called my home internet phone (ooma) claiming to be an US counselor with USCIS in Washington DC. Caller ID was "Immigration&Nat 800-375-5283" which is the correct costumer support number for USCIS. He had a strong Indian accent. I provided him with my husband cell phone # and my name. He stated that they had received a federal complaint a***nst my husband filed by the US embassy in India, because he had failed to pay a one time Alien Registration # fee. I became su****ious and asked him if he knew what was my husband current status (us citizen, resident alien...) He didn't answer and claimed that it didn't matter. When I said that I wanted to check the validity of the call and that I'll be calling USCIS directly, he said that I could check the caller ID number online and that I needed to act now or there will be awful consequences to my husband like being "arrested within an hour by the FBI at his work, damaging his permanent record" and "kept for 25 days in prison". To my goodbye, he replied with a "just wait and see". I immediately called my husband and warned him that I have given his cell phone to what seemed like scammers. Somehow they managed to make my call end and get theirs through. My husband called the home internet phone 5 times. It would ring, I would pick up, but none of us could hear each other. I had to use my cell phone to reach him.
