stating i owe money for tape i rented - i have not rented tape from them since they closed down - how can you owe money to someone who is no longer in business/hurricane katrina destroyed my house what counld i possibly watch a tape on? lpus they want your cc # or checking Acct # for payment - report me to a collection agency for $4.35

I got an automated voice message from an alledged Blockbuster ma****e asking me to call back with a certain code for information about my account. I know it isn't real because every other call I've ever gotten from Blockbuster has been from either a real custer service rep. or a female automated system telling me about an overdue movie. This was the first male one I'd heard, so I'm pretty sure it was a fake.

Don't pay it over this number.  If you are skeptical, call a Blockbuster store.  I got a call on my cell from this number and it was for a different person - I've had my cell number for 6 years and a Blockbuster account for 0 (ie. never had an account).Anyone willing to give their info personal or otherwise over the phone like that for a "possible" late transaction probably deserves to be scammed.

left message regarding blockbuster account.  I called my local blockbuster first before returning the 1-800 number call.  I did have a past due balance of $13 which is exactly what the recorded message gave me-seems to be legit

This appears to be real.  I pressed the option to pay at my local store, and it told me which store to go to (I use several local stores).  I haven't called yet to verify, but it is certainly plausible that I have a $6 balance, especially with the new daily rental fee schedule.

Have not answered any of the calls because of the lack of caller ID info, however, there have been 5 calls today alone. Through the past week, at least 15. Really really annoying.

I received this call about 2 weeks ago, and a***n about 2 minutes ago. I went in to my local Blockbuster to rent a movie Friday night and asked the guy about it and he said I didn't have any balance due. I'll definitely give corporate a call tonight. Thanks.

Stop calling...continuous - daily and at all hours of the day. I have had enough of this caller!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fake Blockbuster call!

I received a collection call today asking me to call Blockbuster at 800-605-5415 regarding my local account. When I made the call, the recording gave 3 options to pay an "alleged" past due balance of $18.28. I could pay by credit card, pay by debit card or pay at my local Blockbuster store. I was given no option to talk to a customer service representative. I ***g-up and called my local blockbuster. They verified that I have no outstanding balance due. I can only conclude that this collection call was a scam.

Report it to Blockbuster's corporate number 1-800-406-6843. I received the same call. I checked my local store,they said I don't have any outstanding debt. When I calle their corporate number, they found that someone else was using my phone number to rent/purchase merchandise. They told me they would delete the other person so we don't get any automated calls a***n. I told them I need to make sure that it's not a scam and they need to look into this.

Number says it Blockbuster, but since I have Blockbuster Online on autopay, which already posted, and the local Blockbuster keeps a card on file, I also think this is a scam.

Received call saying to call re: my BB Store account and reference code 1200. Called and entered number & was told it was not on the list. I hope this wasnt a verification of number to allow telemarketers to call me.

Called and left message, is blockbuster but no options to talk to any one, the name they have was not right. Guessing its a scam, thank god next week the phone number will be c****ed.

I just got a new cell phone number and s****ed getting this phone call on a weekly basis. It is automated and gives me options to press if I am the person they mention (not me) or if this person is not at home... They don't give an option to say that I'm NOT the person... I don't rent movies and I don't know the person they mention... very annoying and I haven't found a way to stop them...

Received automated call asking me to call back said it was from Blockbuster about a balance I owed. I called the blockbuster I use they said I had no balance and there is no reason I should have been called. I suspect either a scam or incompetent IT systems.

A recording was left on my voice mail stating that it was from my local blockbuster. It said for me to call this 800# and reference a code when I called the recording asked me to enter the phone number of the phone I received the call on. After I entered my phone number it just said they did not have it on file???

I received a call from "blockbuster" asking me to call about my account.  THey left the # 800-605-5415.  We don't HAVE a blockbuster account.  Clearly a phishing scam
