Leave a CommentThey call me and leave automated messages on my cell number to contact them and then I contact and cannot get anyone on the phone. It is asking me for a 16 digit account number and do not know where I am calling!
Thank you Jamie I did what you suggested and it worked. I like Darcy had used a card that I never use!! Thank you for your post!! I appreciate it!!
I also recieved a call, and found out it was for a debt owed by someone else. I can only think of 3 reasons this might have happened. 1. a scammer used my phone number on an app, 2. the database information used by "world financial bank" is corrupt, or 3. It's a phishing scam. They did not have me on record as a holder of any credit card issued by them.My advice... beware. seems like it may be #3.
Thank you Jaime. I could not get a person after trying waiting and hitting zero but I tried your trick of fake numbers two times in a row and got a person. Turns out it was for my Ann Taylor card that I closed and forgot I used in Dec. Sure enough...I owed them money and had not received my statement. I informed her of all the confusion due to their ***ue message. I realize they must be ***ue due to laws but they could have a person on the other end instead of a ma****e asking for your account number. The number to call to get a person every time is 888-332-1582.
I identified this place! This is World Financial Bank. They own store credit cards for clothing stores like Victoria's Secret, Lane Bryant and Dress Barn. After hitting a randomn 16 digit number and a random 4 digit number, I was transfered to a rather rude agent who barely spoke english. I was finally able to resolve this issue by asking to speak with customer service and their fraud department, and a lady named Joan was much nicer and explained who they were and why they had business with me. I explained that I had been avoiding their calls because I was unaware that they had business with me and****umed it was a phishing scam. She apologized. So if you get a call from this number. It either belongs to thier Visa or Mastrer card, or a variety of small store credit cards, and is usually because you owe them some money. lol

I am receiving calls from this number, World Financial Bank, but when I call it I am asked by an automated voice to put in my 16 digit account code. Ok, but whose!!!
A recorded voice has called me twice from this phone number and I have called and they ask for an account number. What account number do they want???I want it to stop!!Carol Stahl
I just recieved this call from a ma****e obviously, which ID'd itself as some financial ins***ution and asked me to call 1(800)695-9872 to resolve an issue. It never mentioned who I was, clue 1, what card it was about, clue 2, or what issue they were trying to resolve for me, clue 3.
Same thing happened to me.
Same exact thing just happened to me...thought it was a credit card and the way banks keep c****ing names lately...so I called and it kept asking for an acct. #
Call stating number 800-695-9872 says they are World Financial Bank. Can not reach a person keeps asking for an account number. Says not a sales call on recording.
Call saying it's not a sales call, but not identifying the company. Called it back and got a recording (that would not let me opt out to a PERSON asking for my account #. WHICH ACCOUNT #?
a strange recording asked for my 16 digit account number.
I just received the call from 800 695 9872 to my phone in the 563 area code.
