It is GE Money. This number called to confirm transactions on your recently used credit card. It's a security call to make sure that you made the purchase and that your card hasn't been stolen.

Clarification:Ebay/Mastercard/Paypal calling to confirm a transaction. - This is correct. eBay Master Card fraud prevention service. It is good to know that they do this.Furthermore, if you miss this call, you can call back and enter your information through an automated system to confirm your transaction. Or, even more importantly, if you did NOT made a transaction, you need to inform the company of this as well.Still... this is a very good service. My only complaint is that there is not full identification on the caller ID. Which unfortunately goes to show that you still must pay attention to those unidentified callers. Some ARE important!

This is legit -- got a call not 15 minutes after placing an order with an online Canadian pharmacy to confirm the transaction, and one other I had made the day before.

A person named Manny Castello called me, gave me this number, claimed to be from the FDA, and told me that I had to send $3,000 in cash by Western Union to the Dominican Republic.
A person calling himself Manny Castello called me, gave me this number, claimed to be from the FDA, and told me that I was being charged with a crime and that to avoid imprisonment, I had to send a fine of $3,000 in cash by Western Union to the Dominican Republic to avoid prosecution.
I received a call from this number today. They identified themselves in the message as being from GE Credit, Fraud Services regarding a GAP VISA account for the name of someone I have never heard of. The message also included the last four digits of the account they were calling about.I called them back, and went through the prompts, and got to a menu that said if this is Jen Doe, press 1, if it is not, then press 2. I pressed 2 and reached an operator. I explained that the number they had associated to that name and account was incorrect. He asked how long I'd had my number (which, if it was a brand new number might explain the error), and when he heard how long I'd had my present phone number (15 years), apologized for bothering me and said they'd remove my phone number from the account. They were very nice, about it.
I get calls from this number several times a day both on my cell and at work. They won't leave a message tellling why they are calling just the name Lisa Roberts. I've told them repeatedly that I cannont receive calls at work as I am a switchboard operator yet they still continue to call.
Ebay/Mastercard/Paypal calling to confirm a transaction.
An automated voice responds asking if I am Donna Johnson - which I'm not - and to call this number. How do I make them stop calling? It's happening day and night. When I hit yes I am that person so I can speak with someone to tell them to stop calling, I am too nervous to continue the automated verification system becasue I don't want them to think I'm this person I'm not...How do I make them stop calling - very frustrated :(
Yes, they did the same to me. I have www.youmail.com which allows me to redirect their phone call to a voice message of my choice, whereby they listen to 5 minutes of silence. How long can they listen. I also put them in my cell phone and in my phone, I can choose a particular ring for a particular incoming call, so I chose "silence" so I don't have to even listen to an incoming ring from them. That'll fix em'....I hate these people.
They've called me twice today and twice yesterday- WTF??
they just keep calling, when I answer there is no one on the other end. They say it is for debt collection, it is scary and someone needs to stop all these people.
We received a call from this number yesterday with a recording asking for "____" (no name). It then said, "if you are not '___'(no name) do not listen any further. By continuing to listen, you are confirming that you are '___' (again, no name)" and so on. We have no idea why they are calling or who the call is for, since no one's name was given.
Received 2 calls from this number today, no message, no ID, no apparent reason to have received these calls.
We just confirmed that this number is indeed from the GE Money Bank Fraud Department.

Warranty on your vehicle is about to expire. Think is a scam. I had just bought a new car with a 2yr. warranty- so I freaked out when I first heard that for a moment. I called the place where I purchased my car and they said it wasn't them. These people call 2-4 times a day. There isn't anyone on the line... you just wait.
inbox fills quickly with this number. I've checked and have, no "business relationship" with this number. So for these folks owe me bucks for the airtime they burned. pete
They called my work phone AGAIN. When I indicated I wanted to be removed from the call list, they hung up.
This number called me on my work phone and wanted to talk to me about an extended warranty for my car. When I asked if this was the same number that left a missed call on my cell phone yesterday they said "Yes".
They said that the factory warranty has run out on my vehicle and my Truck is over 192,000 miles and ten years plus old. I like to how they got my cell phone number. It is not listed anywhere. You can't call them back.
The number calls and talks about warranty issues. I quickly hang up and they called me on the cell phone.
They call saying "The factory warranty on your vehicle is about to expire. This is your second notice...blah, blah, blah..." I don't think I have listened past that point, but my Jeep is 12 years old and has 165,000 miles on it, so that warranty is long gone. They call me and my wife at least 3 times a week, and I'm #@&% tired of it.
They keep calling even though my cell phone is my business number and I know this is against the law as it interferes with conducting business.

this number has repeatedly called me asking for some lady. Every day, seven days a week. Sometimes twice a day. When I talked to an operator, they hung up on me. I asked to be removed, and they hung up on me.
Except it isn't Mazda or any other dealership; it is a scam. I've been getting calls for about four months from these people. My Jeep is still under factory and will be for awhile!
