Leave a CommentI have never had a Discover Card, but got a phone call from 800-753-9740 saying they were Discover Fraud Protection wanting to confirm a Discover Card check written by me. When I called back and they wanted my birth info, I knew it was a scam. Watch and see what happens next if you give them that information!
This number is legitimate, I did wright a check.
It's fine. All they needed to know was the phone number they had called, my birth month and year, and knew the amount and asked me to confirm it. They didn't need anything su****ious or anything at all, ad obviously knew the amount (as well as my parents phone number, which I hadn't c****ed, and haven't used in years).
