Leave a CommentGot a call today about my debit card being locked and knew it had not so thought I would also post on this site and hope no one is dumb enough to give them any information. I s****ed to call and give them all bogus info and see what happened but didnt want to listen to them or have them call me back
As I was driving for some quality time with my ***her-In-Law and son, my cell phone s****ed vi***ting with 2 missed calls. Listened to voice message: We had to lock your debit card, to restore call us at 1-800-776-6779 or if you be transferred now to our security department press 1. This message had to be relistened to numerous times, was very hard to understand. It ****es me off when these scammers have to interrupt a family outing.
The caller ID was obviously a huge clue not to answer the phone. Then when I listened to the voice recorded message I was extremely supiscious, so I GOOGLED the number and found this site! So glad that I am not as nieve as these people hope everyone is. I HATE PEOPLE THAT FEEL THEY NEED TO DO SCAMS LIKE THIS!!!
They are constantly calling my cell phone and leaving a message regarding my closed debit card account and in order to reactivate I need to call the security center.
Says my debit card has been locked and to press 1 to talk to the security department or call 800-776-6779. I believe they said the company *** boy but cannot be exact. I called the number and it will not allow my call to go through. This has to be a fraud
This is a voice-over-ip (VOIP) "Vishing" scam to get people to give out confidential account information for supposedly "cancelled" accounts. DON'T GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION OR CALL THEM BACK. The FBI and FCC are aware of this scam and are ***ting the individuals down.
Calls recieved and voicemail left that debit cards have been blocked and the party must call 800-776-6779 to have them unblocked. Number is believed to be fraudulent. Vishing attempt.
8007766779 My husband and I both received a call from this number saying our debits cards have been cancelled. We called the bank directly and it was not true. Do not call this number back it is fraud.
Computer voice represents itself as being from Clear Mountain Bank (a legitimate local bank). Voice claims our debit card has been disabled. Please call 800-776-6779
Caller id says
I got a call telling me to call this number, and that my debit card was locked. I don't have a debit card with the bank that apparently called me (City County Fed Credit Union), but I do bank with a company affiliated with them.
Someone called my direct line at work (must have been late at night), and they left a message saying my debit card was locked. I am in Memphis, TN, which I read someone else in Memphis received the same type of call.
They called and said my debit card had been locked and to call a number to fix it. I didn't call the number. This came thru on my direct work #...not sure where these are coming from, but banks (at least mine) do not contact customers this way to handle these matters.
Called and said my debit card with Southwest ???? had been deactivated and to reactivate it, enter my 16 digit debit card number, followed by the # key. This came thru to my direct line at work , and someone else at my work got the same type of call. I am in Memphis, TN
Called saying city county credit union was "locking" my debit card. Don't have a debit card with them, called back to no voicemail and the direct # was a software firm
Call came in at 1:52am from a City County Federal Credit Union saying my debit card with locked and I needed to call them back @ this number. I don't have a City County Federal Credit Union account
