S.I.F Caller stated they were calling in regards to a reduced rate for our electric bill starting 9/1. She wanted me to verify my account information so that she could guarantee the info she has is accurate - she stated I would need to have a copy of the bill in front of me in order to do this. Seemed fishy to me. She didn't state where she was calling from or who she was affiliated with.

Anti-Spammer Wanted to speak with someone about the electric bill, no doubt wanting to switch me to a high-priced provider. Caution: In Pennsylvania, the PUC maintains that if you give someone your customer number (my electric company ID is 20 digits), you have essentially provided your digital signature. Under no circumstances should you give out your utility company ID!!!!!!!!
