Looks like they have been at it for several months now.  RoomstoGo furniture delivery are the only people I have ever given this number to.TEXT MSG:  "Thanks 4 Visiting Our Website Please Call 877-479-9801 To Claim Your $100 Walmart Gift Card Voucher! Reply STOP 2 Unsub"

Wife got a text message that said.......... "Thx 4 Visting Our Site Call 877-603-5280 To Claim Your $20 Wal-mart Card Plus $50 Gas Card! Reply STOP 2Unsub or Call 415-513-5459 2 Unsub Now"Wife called and we got nailed for a $28 dollar a minute phone charge. Phone company reversed the charge but said to report to FCC and FTC (http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm)

Spam. Most likely came from a free sample I've signed up for recently because those are the only places I've given my number to. Remember if its not important don't use your real phone number online!

Same here. Evidently a lot of people on other sites report the same thing. They said they ended up on the line with people who reported being from many different major US stores, but they sound like they're from India and **** up when you ask su****ious questions like how they got your number.

This has happened to me also and I am very much offended and will certainly look into other cell phone providers who can have better control of '3rd party things'

Rcvd identical unsolicited txts on 2 consecutive days fr this # and 5105656954:  "Thanks 4 Visiting Our Website Call 800-571-4835 To Claim Your $200 Walmart Voucher! Reply STOP 2Unsub or Call 415-513-5459 2 Unsub Now."  The txtr did not identify the web site I supposedly visited OR the name of their organization.     Have since learned from online research THIS IS A SCAM.  When u call, they tell you, for $4 or $5 "processing fee" they will send you $200 Walmart gift card OR some sort of savings vouchers.  The people who responded gave their credit card info but never received the gift card or vouchers.  They will also try to get you to answer questions "for a survey".     I reported them to my wireless carrier and had both numbers blocked.  As my cell# has been registered w the Natl Do Not Call Registry since 2005 (!), I also filed complaints with them a***nst both numbers @ https://www.donotcall.gov where you can also register your phone#s.

At 9:55am, Sa****ay, July 10, 2010, I got the following text message from 831-295-4930:  Thanks 4 Visiting Our Website Call 1-800-571-4835 To Claim Your $200 Walmart Voucher!  Reply STOP 2Unsub.  This is the 1st time that this has happened on my phone.  I rarely give my home #, and I never give my cell phone # to anyone that I don't know personally.  This is really upsetting because so****ing similar happened to my husband in May & June.  This involved a premium messaging company called PredictoMobile LLC.  When he went to Verizon about it, they told him that there was nothing that they could do because it's a '3rd party' thing.  LAME.  (In addition to the bogus charges, Verizon charges $1.99 for megabyte usage that's****ociated w/ this scam!)  So, I went to our Verizon account online to see what affect my recent incident has had on our bill, and Verizon doesn't show you anything current, aside from the bill that's due.  So, that means a trip to one of their stores...  Oh, joy.  I'm beginning to think that we need to seek wireless service elsewhere.
