Sam Linder Honda, Salinas CA, 93907 On December 24, 2009 Christmas Eve day I purchased a ***nd-new 2010 Honda Accord Sedan from SAM LInders Honda dealership in Salinas CA. The salesperson, was very nice and easy to get along with. But as we began to sit down and haggle over the pricing and vehicle features that I could qualify based on my own credit score and income of one person for over two and a half hours back and fourth, back and fourth, and to the other room he went too ok the deal with the General sales manager and as I sat there more and more bored with my experience as I wait in there show room with questions about features and my options as a buyer and as he began to go back and fourth to the Main sales office and come out with news that if I just sign here on this papera we could get you on your way with your car. I ultimately felt forced into a sale and had to leave with the lower model Honda Accord vehicle with less features then the loaded model that I had previous wanted in the first place. My wife and I had come to this dealership several months earlier and spoke with a salesman which I was told he no longer works for the dealership. When I surprised my wife Christmas morning with a new car in the garage she was so excited she all most fainted right there in the garage. As I sat her down in her new car and I begun to show her the features and s**** to explain it was a 4-clyinder she said why you didn’t get the 6-clyinder instead. I was dumfounded and had to explain that based on my income only and credit score and how long I spent at the dealership with the salesman Christmas Eve that I felt forced to leave with it. She said you should have waited for me so we could have qualified and purchased it together based on a total income of two instead of an income of one. As we returned the day after Christmas to speak with the Honda salesman to view and test drive the other model we had looked at several months earlier and proceed to ask questions about how much it would cost us to upgrade to the other model I am once a***n sitting in there showroom with my wife at my side and getting the news from him that it was now going to cost me twice as much just because I drove it off there car lot one day earlier and they now say it was now worth way less then when it sat new on there lot. I am now with a loss of a ***nd new Honda Accord that my wife is not happy with. I am not saying that I am in the right for the purchase of a less powerful car, but rather how I was now being treated as a new customer of that dealership. Now that I was going to spend a little more money to up grade to a different model, and I guess you can not do that or they will not do that for you,So word to the wise don't drive it off the lot. But now they wanted to really rip me off because they want to give me way less then I payed for the car and then they wanted me to pay much more for the upgraded model we wanted,so they had us by the ankles and there was not a thing we could do. They know it was there ball game !! But I do clearly remember the salesmans comments about the purchase of the vehicle that day, stating that if my wife was not happy with the car that I could always bring it back and return it for the model that she wanted and we could just pay the difference. I feel that the salesman misrepresented that little statement to get me to buy the vehicle just so he could close the deal and go home that Christmas eve day. Alternatively, he may have not known his dealerships policies and limitations, in which there is no cooling off period!! In which case his misrepresentation statement was accidental. Either way, it’s extremely disappointing to me as a customer and also reflects poorly on the reputation of SAM LINDERS Honda in Salinas CA. American Honda Motor Co., Inc.
