This caller is not a spammer

I am already completely unhappy with this app. I was told that nothing could be found in the number and that the number I gave is inactive. I know the number is active and I gave the correct number because this is my husband's number and I know that he has much in educational records in the state which I submitted. He also has a fine record of employment in the state I submitted. So what do I do now? I think I need to cancel this at once. Really it is the sorriest information I have ever recieved....and this is from a business!
