It's real... they are just PLAIN RUDE. They get contacted by companies like check systems for bounced checks that the company itself is unable to charge the customer, but if you arrange with the company itself, then they(HALL AND WHATEVER) don't get paid... That is why they are so RUDE and OBNOXIOUS, they want to get money out of you by scaring and threatening you. Don't play into their tricks! if you know you have a bad check lurking around, contact the company with whom you have the debt and pay up! That's the best way to get back at them. Usually they charge DOUBLE what you really owe in the other company.In my case it was a check for like $180 and they wanted me to pay almost $400... I did pay but directly with the company that I owed and they gladly accepted my payment + an additional charge for the first check having bounced. This proves to me that they don't really own the accounts they are calling because if they had bought that defaulted customer list they would have paid the original company and that outstanding account would have been closed.

Upon receiving a letter saying that I owed money I called this firm. When they answered the person on the phone was instantly nasty saying that I was refusing to pay for a returned check from 2007. I asked for info about this check and the man said that I had a week to take care of this matter. I kept asking for info only for the persn to continue to be rude. I asked if there was anyone over them, to be transfered to the same persons voicemail. I ***g up and tried to call back ony to be kept on hold for about thirty min. My only question is if there is a a check out there why have I been able to write checks and open new accounts during this time. And if this is areal company how can they be so rude!!!

For the past few months I have been HARRASSED by 'Jay' at Hall &****ociates saying that I owed money on bad checks from 2004. At first, he was unable to give me any information regarding the checks. Once he finally gave me information, his story c****ed many times on the number of bad checks and check numbers. When I asked for so****ing in writing showing proof of these checks he says, “they don't do that.” Who doesn't send a bill, or proof when trying to collect money? According To Clark Howard, companies are required to send you so****ing in writing and NEVER send any money if they refuse. This has been a nightmare, and the phone calls are so often I have thought about c****ing my number. I have even contacted the local police to see what my rights are in dealing with harassment. The BBB website states that Hall &****ociates is NOT a BBB Accredited business. The people at this so called Law Firm are possibly breaking the law. "Just like any business, there are legitimate collection agencies and rogue ones, too. Collection agencies should never threaten or torment you; it's a***nst the law." ~Clark Howard. If anyone gets a call from any of their numbers, I would contact their local police and inform them.....maybe with a large amount of complaints these people will be shut down.

If you call  1 845 678 6200 they will answer the phone it is a law office looking for Nathan I called and they are removing my number so if you have more problems call them.

I do not know any Nathon they are trying to reach and they do not leave a return number  I wantb this to stop I have 5 calls this week alone

This call is driving me crazy!  They call multiple times a day, sometimes within minutes of the last call.  Someone needs to stop this harrassment!  I refuse to answer as it will use my minutes, plus I will be charged.  If other numbers can be stopped due to harrassment, why can't someone do so****ing about these people????????  W***ver they are.
