Answered a call from a male who said he was glad to have reached me and needed to verify my date of birth.  I refused and asked him what he wanted.  He would not tell me why he was calling other than to say that by federal law he could not give me any information and that I needed to give him my date of birth.  I then ***g up on him.

For the past 3-4 weeks, this number has called repeatedly at least once per day, sometimes 2 or 3 times per day, every day. As a writer who works from home, I normally don't answer the phone, but will call back at my convenience (i.e., when I'm not in the middle of writing!), if the caller is courteous enough to leave a message. However, this place makes continual phone calls and simply ****s up. This is extremely disruptive for one who works at home. So finally, today, I called the number back to see who they are, what they want, and to tell them to stop their harassment. A woman answers, and I think she says "ARS services, may I help you?", but she says it in a garbled manner so I ask her to repeat, only to still get a (intentional?) garbled reply, so I'm still not certain it's 'ARS'. She asks what I want. I tell her I want to know who they are and what they want, since they are the ones repeatedly calling my number and ****ing up. At that point she says, "One moment" and puts me on hold! I ***g up out of disgust. Still don't know who they are or why they're harassing me. Thinking about suing as they are impeding my livelihood.

It is really rude for people or businesses to call a telephone number and not leave a message, especially in the middle of the day while I am in a meeting at work. 863-578-5124 has repeated ***g up and not left a message, they need to be aware that they may be subject to a hefty fine for doing that. Everyone makes a mistake dailing a number, yes even me, but I will leave a message and apoligize for making the error. I have begun to record each call and keep a long. If the calls do not stop, I will file a complaint under Florida Statute Florida's harassing telephone call statute, section 365.16, provides: (1) W***ver: (a) Makes a telephone call to a location at which the person receiving the call has a reasonable expectation of privacy; during such call makes any comment, request, suggestion, or proposal which is obscene, lewd, lascivious, filthy, ******, or indecent; and by such call or such language intends to offend, annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any person at the called number; (b) Makes a telephone call, whether or not conversation ensues, without disclosing his or her iden***y and with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any person at the called number; (c) Makes or causes the telephone of another repeatedly or continuously to ring, with intent to harass any person at the called number; or (d) Makes repeated telephone calls, during which conversation ensues, solely to harass any person at the called number, is guilty of a misdemeanor of the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083.
