I contacted B of A using a number listed on my statement and was told that no one has reached out and to remain vigilant as this is a SCAM and attempt to 1.***n access to my account, and/or 2.personal details to engage in little ID theft. Be careful!! Block the number!!
This is scam. The person who contacted me said her name was Angelica Williams. She said she was calling from Bank of America. She asked me to confirm my information. I ***g up and called Bank of America from the App. Bank of America confirmed there is no Angelica Williams in their database, and this number is not a Bank of America phone number. Also, Bank of America confirmed they would never ask a customer for any data. Finally, Bank of America is required to keep a record of all outgoing calls to customers. There is no record of Bank of America contacting me.
Yes it WAS Bank of America. They were calling to remind me the Covid-19 deferment was ending August 19th. I gave them no info explaining that I read it was a scam call. However, it really was BOA and they had all my info.
