Leave a CommentI received a call from this "collection" agency stating that I owed them $6000.00 for a visa that was opened in 2002 with Fleet Bank. I have never herd of Fleet Bank nor have I ever had a credit card through them. I have delt with one bank in my life and know it is not Fleet Bank. The lady refused to give me her name, or give me any other information except for the fact that I was now under investigation for credit fraud and would be hearing from legal officials about this matter. Once doing a little research on this company I now know. I will be talking to my lawyer as I have seen several law suits placed a***nst them for this issue
Received a call from an "officer" Banks on my answering ma****e> I could not under stand the name of the person they were looking for or the case number she gave. I called right back for verification and asked for the ext. number given. When I got hold of the woman, she asked for the case number. I let her listen to the message and she could not understand either. She said to wait for them to call back. I thought this was strange because the one clear thing I could hear her say was; "This is the 2nd and final notice." I asked what the call was in reference to and she said they did a lot of things there so she didn't know what this call was about. Only about 5 minutes had passed between her leaving a message and me calling her back and yet she didn't have information about why she called me.
Received a voice mail message from 866-949-***1 regarding a lawsuit in Greene County, MO. Researched the lawfirm of Frederick, Goldstein, and Bowe on Martindale-Hubbell and they do not exist. Also ran the case number in Greene County counts and not a valid number. Threatened our 18 year old daughter to be summons if did not respond in 24 hours. Seems like they are just going through court records and making random calls. Our call was from a Ms. Campbell. We are also listed on the No Call List.
Said they were calling for 1st consumer's national bank. When I said I never had the credit card, they did not argue and very quickly offered up that maybe a boyfriend or ex husband opened it by using my name. I work in the banking industry...we don't give in that easily!!! "Attorney Jeffery M McCall" said he would be gald to meet me in court, or we could just settle this over the phone for $500. But at the s**** of the call said my balance was over $1000. Collection agencies do not settle for less 1st thing. I told him obviously someone opened the card in my name fraudulently and I would prove it in court. A***n he suggested we settle this over the phone. Some attorney. if ever someone believes fraud was committed using their credit, it can be straigtened out through the mail and the credit bureau by filing a claim. The law firm he said he was calling from was Attorneys Frederick, Goldstein and Zoe...no such firm exists.
