Telemarketer. Caller ID says Verizon, but when one calls this number the answering ma****e says American Cancer Research.

This is not Gregory ****ow Ministries-- this is a debt collector, one of those shady places that buys old debts (the information for which is no longer even correct by the time it gets to them)...they are nasty people who lie when they do leave a message so that you will pick up the phone next time.

I keep getting calls from 877-223-6665 leaving message to call them. I have called twice now and get this recording telling me to put in my 16 digit account number. I have no clue as to who these people are or what 16 digit account number they want. When you call the number there is no identifying as to who they are.

I had a similar experience with these people. I called them at this number after someone claiming to be a process server told me if I called them & "resolved" the issue, he could avoid having to come serve me with court papers. (Wouldn't say what jurisdiction they were from, just that I had been charged with fraud.) I called "The Bar Group" and spoke with Margaret, who claimed that I had a defaulted payday loan with Payday Loan Yes, and that I owed over $900 due to my bank account being closed. I had applied with that company and was turned down earlier this year. I told Margaret that I had never received any written notification of this & she said that Internet loan companies are not required to send you written notice. I was told that I could settle for $420, but it had to be paid by 12/31. I gave them my debit card info & paid them $100 the next day and planned to pay the remainder on 12/24. I have since researched, and according to the FTC, they DO have to provide written notice. I called the Bar Group back & asked to have such notice sent to me. The person who answered refused to tell me his name, and when I told him that according to my research, and my lawyer's office, they had to send me such notice, he said he would transfer me to someone who could do that. I was placed on hold for about 10 seconds, and then the call was terminated on their end. I feel like a fool for sending them the first payment, but you can believe they won't be getting any more from me!

I got an email that was purportedly from e-trade. I do not have an e-trade account. This is obviously a fraudulent email. I would recommend anyone who gets a call or email asking them to call this number to report it to the appropriate authorities (e.g., FTC). Let us get the fraudsters shut down!
