ugh! they called me repeatedly over a boot I had for a broken foot. I got a bill in the mail just days before... very unprofessional. not sure if legit either as I never had people trying to be me to pay on phone for something I just got a bill for.
Thanks for the info. I found out through you guys that they r bugging me over inserts for my shoes the ortho ordered. Didn't even know I owed them.
Paid these guys -DJO - for shoulder wrap on time ! they posted payment 4/7/2011. Got computer call 4/12/2011 asking us to call about acct. Called and **** at them about the robo call. they confirmed they had the payment and said must be computer mistake. if they call here again I am going to start calling them every 30 min reminding them they have their $ and that I will continue to call till someone 'fixes' their computer records.
I received an automated call with a reference number yesterday. I called back today. They are an orthopedic medical supplier. May daughter recently broke her arm, and they were after payment for a sling. I HAD already received an insurance statement showing that this was not covered by insurance, showing the amount billed, and showing the allowable charges. DJO LLC is what is listed on my "Explanation of Benefits" from Blue Cross Blue Shield. I did pay them. After I did I got a little concerned (their collection process - on an account that isn't even late no less - is definitely a bit odd) after making the payment so I called my credit card company. They said it looks legit and not to worry about it.
I received a letter stating I owe $60.90 for a sling that my doctor gave me for surgery in August. The letter was dated 12/01/09. I called 888-225-4398 and they said it was going into collection.I told them I did not have the sling anymore and the doctor's office never heard of DJO. My insurance would of paid for the sling as it was in the price of the surgery. I told them to send me a form that the doctor would fill out to state the sling was thrown away. As of 12/27/09 I have not received this form.
this is probably for some kind of splint or something of that sort from your physician office. I went to an ortho guy and had a hand splint but they don't bill it to your insurance on the office number, it is submitted as a separate provider of service.
I received an automated call from this 888-225-4398 number on my voicemail. If I was L. press number 1, if I am not L. press number 2 on my keypad. It was supposedly a billing department and I had an account number??. I was stupid enough to call this number and left my phone number on their answering service. Dumb, dumb.I have never used orthopedic supplies or have orthopedic trouble. This smells like a giant scam! Beware.
