From reading these messages, I would bet on a Best Buy fake. They were suppose to call me this morning (different number) to see if I wanted to continue with Sony TV service Tech in home and never called. I felt the Sony guy seemed fake and had a different (wrong) factory reset which destroyed my TV ($2400 down the drain). All of them have only one trouble shooting gimmick. So sad to see what monsters technology created.

I did receive an e-mail from Best Buy.

This number is also the number owned by Best Buy, Culver City, CA I did receive an e-mail from them.

He was from Best buy tech support giving me a refund on my computer protection in the amount of $300. I knew I didn't have that . When I said that he said give me your last name I can check your account. I said no this is a scam and ***g up.

They said they were Best Buy. They were trying to refund a computer protection I had in the amount of $300. I know I didn't have anything on my account and it was a scam so I ***g up. These scammers are getting to be ridiculous!

This is from Chicago and it may or may not be legit. They identified themselves as Best Buy and reported on an in-home appointment we had made. We had the appointment with a Man identified as Tristan from Geek Squad. We then received a follow-up email saying our appointment had been cancelled. At this point, I feel Tristan was legit, but for some reason they are trying to silence Geek Squad and give them a bad reputation. Please submit this directly to the FBI Cyber Crime Division in Illinois and Arizona - P***nix Field Office and carbon Best Buy and Geek Squad. I am blocking this number as everyone should.

Tried to get credit card info to extend my warranty and receive 50 percent off my next purchase. Problem is I have no computer to extend warranty for, nor am I going to give a ****ed scammer ANY INFORMATION ABOUT ME. I’m going on vacation soon and expecting to hear from my travel agent which is the only reason I even answered this unknown 888 number. I really wish these****holes would get busted. DONT GIVE OUT FINANCIAL INFO OVER THE PHONE. DONT EVEN ANSWER THIS CALL

They rang into my cell phone. I opted to speak to someone [vs. "dial 2 to be removed"] but was on hold forever until ultimately they disconnected. Unlike landlines it is simply illegal to robo call cell phones. The punishment is $500 per incident. Do the math... if the robo calls 10,000 cell phone users gets pretty hefty! Now to find w***ver the lawyer is that makes a living doing this. I don't want a penny, I just want to be left alone! If my posts are looking familiar its because I'm waging at least a one man war a***nst these robo callers! Unless any editing is required I'm copy/pasting pretty much the same message every time I get a call. Hopefully a ***gry lawyer will grab the bait and run w/ it! ps. I don't recall the Best Buy part... only that they rang in on my cell and it was automated... I keep a list then eventually post to boards like this.
