Leave a CommentThey keep calling posing as a collection agency looking for someone that I do not know and does not live here. They refuse to discuss what kind of business they are in. They still call even after Cease and Desist orders. Rude, obnoxious and clueless.
I just returned a phone message left for me (by name) last night. It was in fact the Wyndham Professionals group collecting on a Sallie Mae loan as their message stated. However, I have never had a loan with Sallie Mae. After stating that the woman on the phone politely verified the phone number they called and stated that she would remove my name and number. I did record the call (as I do in these instances) and got her name and extension. If they call a***n I will have this as back up. Unfortunately, while my name is not John Smith it is a VERY common name in my home state. Perhaps returning the call to correct the caller's error in data may help. In addition, perhaps a lesson in common courtesy could be learned by all collection professionals. The data can often be wrong.
TOO BAD THEY CAN'T RE-PO YOUR COLLEGE CREDITS OR DIPLOMA! THEN I'M SURE YOU PPL WOULD BE BEGGING TO SET UP PAYMENTS!
I have received several calls from 603-890-4034(caller id), and the caller leaves the 888-241-8262 as a call back number. I believe they are both the same collection agency.
Ok, it's people like that, that make this economy what it is. They seem to think the world revolves around them. When you sign this legally binding contract it specifically states, and i quote, "If you default on the loan then the payment in full is due, including any and all added collections costs, interest and fees" It doesn't say if you default on the loan you can make payment.Did you ever think you made payments on some loans that havn't defaulted but you may have had a couple slip through the *****s? It's happend to more than you think. Instead of throwing a temper tantrum why don't you try to verify the account numbers? Sallie Mae does make mistakes. So many people complain about the costs of going to college being so high, it's because of people who don't pay their student loans that make it so high.
Yep, they just called my boyfriend's cell phone while he was at work. I don't know how they got it, but they asked for me, and the boyfriend said they sounded sketchy (and NO ONE calls him asking for me!) and then they tried to get a number to reach me. My boyfriend kept asking what it was in reference to and he wasn't going to give out my number. They finally said they were "wyhdham professionals" and they left this number: 888-241-8262, with an extension. (These are the Sallie Mae bill collector stalker ******s.) I ALREADY worked out a payment plan a while ago, back when I would accept their calls, but then they got SO NASTY (cursing, personal insults, and mean tone) after I explained (more than 15 calls/ times) that a payment plan was already underway. (Do they even LOOK at the system?) I told my boyfriend to say he doesn't know me because now they know he knows me and they will probably harass him all day and night. These people are like the plague. Lie to them. Tell them you don't know who they are looking for. Better yet, if you try to take out a sallie mae loan, only give cell phone numbers, this way you can ignore or disconnect those lines without much grief, and you can pay back your bills in peace. The way these people harass, I wouldn't be surprised if they caused a nervous breakdown or ******* during this recession.
Why dont you tell them that they had the wrong number. A complaint isn't going to hold up unless they know that they're doing so****ing wrong. The so-called "do not call" list ONLY applies to telemarketers. Did you ever stop to think they aren't telemarketers and actually have a REASON for calling?!?!?!
Once your loan defaults your entire balance is due. Read the paper work you signed. I paid whatever I could every month the Windham people tried to get more out of me, they even called my cosigner (grandma) I did it my way..... my 74 yr old grandmother just had a lein placed on her house and they added in their attorney's fees to my already out of control balance. I found out it's a***nst the law for a bill collector to tell you so****ing is going to happen if it can't actually happen they told me and my grandmother this would eventually happen but I thought they were lying.
I have been receiving harassing calls from 603-890-4034. I have no student loans or outstanding debt and have asked them to stop calling me and they refuse to do so. I have also informed them I am on the do not call list and have filed a complaint. If you are interested in filing a complaint you can go to the following website to obtain information on how to do so:https://www.donotcall.gov/faq/faqbusiness.aspx
A man named "Jerry" called me from this number about a past due Sallie Mae account. I've only been able to find seasonal employment and/or draw unemployment for the past year, so money is tight. I have been making small weekly payments online to my Sallie Mae account. "Jerry" is telling me that my payments are being rejected and sent back as soon as I post them. When I check my Sallie Mae and checking accounts, there is no evidence the payments have been sent back. It smells like a scam to me. If anyone else has more info, it would be greatly appreciated.
We've been dealing with these kinds of debt collectors in the following ways.1. Explain that the person they are looking for has since moved and has a new number. They will ask for the "new" number. GIVE THEM YOUR CONGRESSMAN'S NUMBER. Hopefully if enough of us do this, they will draft legislation a***nst harassing debt collector phone calls.2. Record a "This number has been disconnected" message to your answering ma****e. You can find authentic MP3 "out of service" messages on the internet. Whey they call, let the answering ma****e pick up. (You will need caller i.d. to determine who is calling.) Hopefully it is an actual person calling and they will think your number has been disconnected.3. Determine the iden***y and location of individual employees. Take a warrant for their arrest. (Harassment)
This is ridiculous. I've been reading numerous sites with complaints about Wyndham using both this 888 number as well as 603-890-4034 and playing games with people. Moments ago they left a message in a threatening tone claiming to be calling from "The State of Tennessee". OOhh- I'm so frightened - NOT. I recognized the 603 number on my caller ID but the "State" number they left to use to make the most URGENT call back is the 888#. I receive several calls a day from them including nights and weekends and they must****ume we are all idiots. The point here folks, is that instead of attacking one another you should see that misleading people and trying to scare them into compliance is extremely poor business and speaks volumes about the corporation and it's employees. There are people who owe on loans. I however, am NOT one of those people and Wyndham should get their facts straight before threatening people. For those they are properly collecting on, some intend and try to pay and some do not. It is a very bad and sad economy we live in and some compassion between each other realizing that everyone has a story and a struggle is called for. MOST people are inately good and are doing their best to survive in the current state of affairs. Try to be kind to one another...PLEASE. And if one of you reading this is from Wyndham, please get your information correct before "doing your job" and for God's sake, do it with some dignity and professionalism instead of acting like a bunch of snakes in the gutter.
They call and call looking for someone else. I have talked to them twice and they still call. How do I stop it?
IF YOU PEOPLE WOULD PAY YOUR STUDENT LOANS US BILL COLLECTORS WOULD NOT HAVE TO CALL YOU SEVERAL TIMES OR EVEN CALL YOU AT WORK BUT HEY SOME PEOPLE JUST DON'T GET THE PICTURE!!!!!!!!!!!
They are pretty rude. About two years ago they s****ed calling me. While I was aware that I had student loans to pay the tone the first guy took with me was outrages. My son had just broken his arm the day before. It hadn't been reset yet so he was in a lot of pain. He kept asking me for a checking account number which I didn't have at that time. He said he was the manager and he was screaming. I finally just ***g up the phone. Eventually they did garnish my wages. But that stop in September of last year. The last few people that I have dealt with have been pretty nice. That first guy however was a real ****.
the # is windham pros. student loan collectors. they can only leave name # and comp. on voicemail. look up FDCPA laws. if you are the wrong person call and tell them they will stop calling but also advise them that you don't know the person and they wil stop. also they might be calling you because you are a ref. for a person who has the sudent loan (the person fills this info out when they take out the loan, it could be a couple yrs old phone #'s do c****e) you can also look the comp up @ windhampros.com if they are calling your job they are trying to contact you before your wages are garnished (15% of your paycheck) since it is goverment money they can do that also if it goes to federal defalt they can put a lean on anything your name is attached to. just a little info that might help
Sounds like this is a Pirate Caller - a Crystal Cadorette called here - why? gave extension 7066 + goes to vm - not sure why
They call at the same time everyday. I have told them to stop calling. They have the wrong person. Idiots!!!!! They are from Wyndham Debt Collection.
THEY CALLED MY JOB..AND I NEVER ANSWER UNKNOWN CALLS ANYWAYS..I GOT THE NUMBER AND SHE LEFT A NAME. I FORGOT. BUT ITS THE SAME NUMBER..I WENT TO WHITEPAGES.COM AND DID A PHONE REVERSE SEARCH..AND HAD NO LUCK..SO I GOOGLED IT AND ENDED UP HERE. BUT I AM NOT CALLING BACK. I KINDDA KNOW THAT ITS FROM A COLLECTION AGENCY. ***** THEM
just got a call from this number and she said she was illene (no last name) and when I asked to speak to her supervisor she stated that she was the only person and that she was in charge. She is calling me by my married name which I have not used in years (18) looking for someone that she claims is using me as a reference. She was rude and demanding of information that I could not give her. wonder how you get these people to stop calling? I have never had these types of calls. It is like she threatned me that if I did not give information she knew I owned property and knew the address...not sure why this would make me tell information I don't know. Who are these people?
I have received probably 5 calls from this number over the past 2 months and they only leave their name & number, but never the name of the company. I don't answer "unknown" calls & sure won't return calls if they don't mention the company they're representing. I did call the number to find out the name of the company so I could google it and it came up as a collection agency that specialized in school loans. First, I have no school loans & second, I have nothing in collections. I can only****ume that it's a solicitor calling. I'll respond when they leave me a complete message...until then, they can keep leaving me messages. Looks like they're really up to so****ing if two people have left entries regarding this within the last 2 days. Hmmmm.
