Received three different calls from this number that came in as Xfinity. Each time they asked about a landline transfer that needed FCC verification. I told them that I was not transferring a landline but rather setting up a new one at a different address. They wanted me to record my name, address, social security number which I refused. After the third call, I drove to the local Xfinity store to talk to them about this. They told me it was a scam and showed me how to block the number.

I was called today by this number and it sounded like a computer generated, slow-speaking, east coast man in his 70s who stated he was from Comcast and calling regarding comcast.net email that he claimed I no longer had access to. I am sure this is a scam

Update from 12/27/11: I've been called 1 a day since then! I've told them to quit calling, but they won't!

I'm a Comcast customer of over 3 years now. This is a sales call from Comcast to upgrade services, which I don't need!

Comcast. Probably wants a survey on install.

This company keeps calling!! why is comcast calling me because I don't even live in a comcast area! ... I tried doing a little research is this company affiliated with another company called digitalmojo... I asked them to take me off their list and they told me they don't have a list... I think this is illegal

888-266-2278. Also calls with the number 800-226-2278. This number calls me. If it goes to voice mail I sometimes get no message. sometimes I get a very long message of background noise only then a **** up. A couple of times when I answered this call, I go long pauses then a **** up, and a couple of times I answered this call, I got a pre-recorded messages saying, thank you for calling Comcast. Yet I did not call them, they called me. The call my cell phone which is on the Do Not Call list. They also call my 2 home phones, both on separate numbers, and my business phone, a different fourth number. My cell phone and business lines are in separate area codes than my home phones. They call three different area codes and four different numbers, and I have yet to speak to any live customer service agent. So far I have gotten more than a dozen calls in the last three days.

I don't have Comcast and never have, so I have no bill to pay (loser). They keep calling obviously trying to sell me a plan which I will not order because I am very happy with my ATT U-verse.

These guys call 2-3 times a day. Leave no message. IRRATATING ESPECIALLY AT SUPPER!

I'll tell you who it is... It's definitely a rep from an affilate of comcast called gobroadband. If someone is calling out on it, they remotely checking their cellphone messages because they have so****ing to hide.If you are getting phone calls from that number repeatedly, someone in your family is duping you by having second line on their cell phone and a second account on their cellular internet.  I know; I just caught my wife after my friend, who owns an internet security company, remotely went through my hard drive nd found the contract, and old messages.  One way to find out is to look in the internet history of the cell phones of the people who share a home phone with you, and also sign on to his/her regular acct on the cell, and you'll see that there is another My Account somewhere in the menu. Someone has so****ing to hide if that number is appearing on your caller id.Good luck.

Same number, def Comcast. Since they no longer send paper shut off notices, these calls s**** when your bill is overdue and continue until its paid or turned off.

This is Comcast calling about an account for a person I don't know. A fellow named Dustin left the message but I have not been able to let them know I am not the person they are trying to reach.  When I call the number back , I get a recording of the hours they are available to accept calls and when called during those hours, still the same message!

I use comcast, but am not delinquent on my bills (auto payment) nor do I have an installation scheduled. I am planning on canceling my service, so maybe they are psychic ;-) No msg.

It is a company that comcast uses for collections. A reminder call to let you know that your bill is past due.

If it *is* comcast, I'm not sure why they're calling me about money.  I canceled my service with them.

Several calls...a friend is seeing this outgoing number show up on a cell phone bill...her son is using it to call out???? Is this acceptable for a private party to be using this number?

I've gotten 2-3 calls a day from this # every day for the past week on my business line. They ALWAYS **** up and NEVER leave a message and when I call the number back to rant I get some call center on the other side of the planet with a CSR that can barely speak English.   ****! cvnts.

ok.. uhh no 888-266-2278 is another number for the main line for comsast( have you actually dialed that number?), 888-comcast, and also 800-comcast, 1-800-266-2278.make sure you dial it exactly if you are even one number off you will not get comcast( make sure the line says " Thank you for calling Comcast" and in a women's voice, if it does not say that you have dialed that wrong number!) I know because I researched this, Third parties who sell the service will buy similar numbers... for instances if you dialed  1-888-226-2278 it is an affiliate !! check the number and re dial!

They have called me twice now... once at 3 pm and once at 9 am. If it is Comcast, why don't they leave a message? I hate when they don't leave a message.
