Leave a CommentI got a call from 1 (888) 344-6517 today but ignored it. Phone message was just dead air. I haven't been with Bell for a while now. Last year around this time I had an experience as others on this post describe. I almost took the deal as I needed a new phone. But when they asked for my credit card number and address I challenged them. If they were truly from Bell they'd have that info. I later contacted Bell who of course said they didn't currently have the deal that had been described to me.
I have had a few calls from this number in the last couple weeks. I answered the call today but all I got was a robot voice "goodbye" and then the line went dead. Definetly a current or former employee of Bell running a scam.
I got a call today from this number and I did the same thing I do whenever strange numbers call, I let it go to voicemail (no message) and looked it up online. As usual this helpful site came up and confirmed my su****ion that this was a scam. Thanks a***n whocallsme.com!
Call Phone busters their web site is http://www.antifraudcentre-centreantifraude.ca/english/common_contac*****tml and their toll free number is 1 (888) 495-8501. It's the anti-fraud people for ca***a that work with RCMP for any phishing, or fraud telemarketing etc.
I got this as a missed call today and am very glad that I googled the phone number before calling back. I am hesitant to think that there is any way they got our numbers besides from Bell selling information seeing as its all calls to Bell mobility customers. Frustrating for sure so hopefully I won't get the same 60 calls someone else received. Thanks for posting all this so I can avoid the scam (not that I would have fallen for it as personal information over the phone is never safe), and maybe it will help others.
I received a call from this number today, regarding a promotion including a free phone and a cell phone plan with many features included for $55.Once they s****ed requesting my personal information, I knew it was a scam. BELL ALREADY HAS THIS INFORMATION AND WILL ONLY REQUEST IT FOR VERIFICATION PURPOSES. They will essentially ask for all your information - Full Name, Email, Address, but once they requested my SIN number or Drivers License I told them I was no longer interested. However, they insisted and continued to request my information. These guys are scammers phishing for personal information to perhaps commit iden***y fraud.Feel free to prank them/play along/request to be taken off their list if they call a***n.Be safe.
TALKED TO BELL, USELESS COMPANY WOULD DO NOTHING TO HELP.I've gotten over 60 of these calls so far from this number
I bet its an insider....who else would have access to just bell accounts? messed up!
I got a call today from this phone number. A woman claimed she was from Bell Mobility and said I was going to receive a free phone. She tried to go on about a contract I would have to get and I said "Forget the contract, you said I get a free phone. Since you are from Bell you must know my mailing address so I'll expect the phone in a few weeks. That's great, thanks". The women said once more that I would have to get a contract with the phone so I cut her off and said "I've gotten these phone calls before. I know this is a scam and I would appreciate my number being taken off of your list, thanks". She promptly ***g up on me. When I tried to call back the number, it said the number was outside of my calling area. Total scam.
I got this call last week with the same stuff. $30.00 plan. I think I might get dinged as they had info and ****** me confirmed. What can I do about it? Anyone know
I got the call today from Blocked ID and 1 888 344 6517 was the number I was given. She said she was calling from the Bell Mobility Promotions Department and offered me a free Blackberry on a 3-year contract for $45 per month.I called Bell Mobility and they told me there were many scams going around.I spoke to Catherine ID# INO39.Yikes!
I got a call today from a blocked number and a lady named Cynthia from Bell Ca***a told me my number was selected to recieve a blackberry and a monthly plan of only $45. She said "you are the luckiest customer sir". I asked why her number was blocked and she gave me a number to call her supervisor (1 888 344 6517). I looked that number up on google and this is the page I got. Thanks for posting your comments.
i got it too today. i got called from 107241033. i went to belln they said its a scam but how do they get our numbers!!? scary!!!
I received a call from a lady claiming to be a Bell rep offering me the new phone from Bell (equivalent to the iPhone) as well as an amazing monthly plan for the low low price of $30, shipping and receiving charges of course. She had my full name and address (!!) but could not provide me with my Bell account number. When I got off the phone, I confirmed with Bell that this was a scam and reported it to Phonebusters. She gave me her supervisor's number as 1 888 344 6517. I called it out of curiosity and a man answered with Bell Ca***a, how may I help you? Don't give these ****s your money!!!!
