Harassment charges, deflamation of character & an invasion of privacy all need to be slapped on these people. They call every 5-15mins. are very rude, and make you think that they are for real. Not to mention will also ring your work phone which apparently they don't know is a***nst the law. They're just mad cause they can't get anyone ****** enough to fall for this scam to answer the phone. If we had a government or law that really wanted to protect us, then they would put a stop to these people and others like them. Where is the prosecutors for these crooks when we need them.
I have received the same calls, same names, same threats, etc. What can be done about these?
They are scammers who try to say you have a debt, they find out a little info about you first as a way to get more info from you. They will try to get you to set up a payment plan immediently to avoid court. It's just a scam to steal your bank account number, SS#, and information they can get out of you or anyone who answers the phone. Don't be bullied. Ask for their address to make a complaint a***nst them to the attorney general for unfair practices. Bet they **** up. The 1st time I received a call, they left a message with me for my daughter to call Sara Levy or John Stevenson at 888-416-4980 concerning a legal matter a***nst my son. When I asked for more info, they didn't have any. My daughter ignored it. Several weeks later someone called, asked for me. I was given the same info. I called Sara Levy who told me 40% of a mastercard bill must be paid by 5pm that very day or else. I told her to proceed with the judgment. Every day since I get a call. Today, I called back and angrily told them to remove my number. The number they are calling is not even in my name! How did they get this phone number.
Called the sister of my wife and wouldnt say anything but they were filing a court case a***nst my wife. There are no creditors that my wife has listed her sister as a reference on, so I dont know why her sister is getting harrassing phone calls.
