These are legitimate numbers, belonging to businesses that have gone out of business. There are **** sites that surf the "800" number databases and purchases these numbers from that company.They then use them to sell **** or invite people to chat for a fee. They do not c****e the company name to theirs. When you answer it and there is actually somebody on the line, itis a ****** chat or **** employee tempting you to make a purchase using your credit/debit card. Yes, it is a scam.

An oriental man calls and says this is an important call wanting confirmation for ? so****ing I could not understand. The man did not seem to know what he was even calling about. What a nuisance.
