Leave a CommentA Renee Foster called and left a message, claiming she was with 'Legal Services' and there was some sort of lawsuit a***nst someone who shared the same first initial (but differnt first name) and same last name as me. Renee apparently was trying to track this poor person for a shakedown of some sort. She didn't list the name of her company or the name of the company trying to sue. She only gave a case number. I called back and truthfully told her that she had the wrong number. She said she would remove the number from her file. The whole operation sounded kind of fishy to me.
Mrs. Lawson called my cell # today with my last 4 digits of my ss# saying I owed for a magazine subscription from 1996 and that I owed $108.40 and that I was going to be summoned to court if I did not pay and the court cost would be about $400 THIS IS A SCAM confirming with my lawyer DO NOT FALL FOR IT
Caller Type: scam Message left on our answering ma****e: "This is Madeline Drake with the legal department, and we need to contact you regarding a possible law suit a***nst you. This is a time-sensitive matter, so you should get back to us at the earliest opportunity." She left the call back number: 888-582-5121
She called my husband at his job saying that he owed for magazines purchased 10 years ago. She would not mail me anything and would not accept a money order for payment. When I researched, I found there is no such company. She sent me a fax with the information and my husband's entire SSN was written across the page. Not only that, she sent me someone else's information also. I do not know how she got my husband's social, but now we have to watch our credit every day. Do not fall for this idioc****. It is completely a scam. No payments made here!!!
Recieved a total of (3) calls from this hussey to my cell phone claiming to be with 'Legal Services'. In each case the call came up 'unknown' and she would leave a voice mail claiming there was a pending lawsuit and that I should return her call to 1-888-582-5121 and refer to a case number in order to avoid legal processes. The last message stated this was the 3rd and final call she could make and that if I didn't return her call within 24 hours she would have no choice but to forward my case for litigation and I would recieve a summons. I Googled the number which of course is how I got here but suspected it was some kind of horse*hit. I pay my bills and in fact own everything I have including my home so if there's someone looking for money from me it must have been over 25 years ago when I was younger and dumber. Send a summons, I need the paper for kindling next winter in the fireplace. Meatheads.
Wanted me to give my name and address and social security number. When I wouldn't, they s****ed yelling.
Some dude named Ryan Pain said I owed money to a magazine company, he was a real ****, got all defense when I suggested it was all a scam. Wouldn't send anything in the mail showing legal do***ents about this****ential lawsuit. Wouldn't tell me what company he was with.
I believe the person said her name was Melissa Lawson. Message I got was that there is a****ential law suit a***nst me. Smells a little fishy to me. Googled the number and ended up here. They gave me a case number and when I called, was an answering ma****e. Correct me if I am wrong but if you owe money wouldn't you get a notice stating that? I know that I am always very responsible in my financial dealings.
Called with a case number and said I owed a debt for a magazine subscription that was cancelled 8/9 years ago.
I have a law suite a***nst me. The number on caller ID came up as unknown - why wouold a legal service have that? And why haven't I gotten a letter wjich is standard? SCAM!!! I see they have used this name before as I review spome of the entries on this site.
I have bogus law suite a***nst me regarding why I used the name Aln****ier on a contract.
Angela Davis, that's what the caller said their name was. Said they were going to file a lawsuit about my "case." Don't know them and don't know the parties they discussed. Scam to find out where you live and what your ss# is. BEWARE.
Caller left a message about a law suit, left this number stating the company name and case number. I don't plan on calling them back!
Stated he was calling in regards to a lawsuit a***nst me that was filed in New York (even though I live in Connecticut) and wanted me to pay a bill. I told him i don't mind paying my bill but I want peperwork on it and he could not supply it.
This guy called, stated he was an investigator for the courts - trying to get in contact with X....do I know the person, etc. Wouldnt give any additional information (What court, where, who he was an investigator with, etc). Stated his name was Stan Hamilin. He is a ****
Mr. Emery called my house saying that he was calling to collect on a magazine debt that was paid off 2 years ago. He insisted that if I did not pay him $107.73 with a credit card or at least call him back with the card information, that I was going to be sepeonaed to go to court in New York this coming Friday at 11:45am. He even went as far as to tell my wife that she had better get commissary ready to send to my and that I was going to be in jail. When she questioned him about rea****g someone other than himself, he insisted that he was over lawyers nationwide and that the only ones who were above him were judges and became irate with her then ***g up after threatening to have the police bring paperwork to have me shipped to New York for court. He even brought up a past girlfriend's name as being put on the account.
Said he was a private investigator for state of missouri Missouri court office, mentioned my ***her in law, who was certainly not on anything I have done for my business, said his name was stan hemily once I asked a few questions about address where he was got quick wanted credit card info to pay outstanding bill
called my work looking for me and claim to be a private investigater named stanley lemiley and that I better call him back in a really rude way. this looks like to be some con-artist's number or some kind of scammer, and they never ansewer their number that they left
