Leave a CommentTrying to resell electricity. They thought I was serviced by Iberdrola / Rochester Gas & Electric at 9 cents a kwh. I'm serviced by the NY Power Authority at 3 cents a kwh.Idiots don't even have an accurate phone book for their target market.
I just got a call for this number.3/29/11 at 3pm. A female came across as if she was from the local Gas and Electric company, asked me for the person incharge of the gas and electric account, and then asked me "my name" for her to verify it was me. lol (turns out she didn't know nothing) After I gave her my name I realized it was not right. She was then asking me to read information from my bill, and ***g up when I continued to questioned her. She was trying to say that I "must have" at one point in the past 15yrs entered an electrical "choice plan" to save money. I when I tell her that I have NEVER entered any such a program, she acted as if I was wrong. And my number is on the NYS do not call list.
The company wants you two switch natural gas suppliers. Ahh, memories. This harks back to the good ole days of long distance companies calling to try and get you to switch to MCI. Which brought us slamming. Good times, good times.
Same thing - 'this is in reference to your National Grid account...' I don't have a national grid account, was told to call back and have my bill handy, and of course since I don't have a bill they would ask for other information (social security number, etc), and would have asked for a credit card payment over the phone. It's a pretty good scam.
Get tons of these calls from various utility resellers - always say they want to talk to the person who handles our national grid bill. They are NOT from national grid and that is not what they want. They want to discuss our SWIT****G from national grid to them as a supplier. I always say "thanks, we're all set with that" and **** up before they can respond. If we wanted to switch we'd be calling them (or their compe***ors), not the other way around. Will not talk with them. We're not interested. Go away.
Left message asking me to call back a different 888 number regarding my national grid account. I don't have a national grid account.Telemarketer S***
Claimed to be calling about my National Grid (gas) account. Left message that had a telemarketing "odor." Did not call back.
Call all the time, claiming to be "Kelly" from "US Gas and Electric". Very demanding, urgent sounding message asking for a call back with "gas and electric bills in hand". Only the ****** or perhaps naive would fall for it. SPAM, TELEMARKETER, S***.
This number called my cell number. It left a voice mail that said it was calling from "US Gas & Electric" and to call them back. I did call back for curiousity. But I did not want to waste cell minutes,****uming it was an illegal telemarketer call who somehow got my cell phone number, since I do not deal with such a company! I held for about 60 seconds just out of curiousity. When I was about to **** up a voice mail came on that said "the operator is not available or it's after hours, please leave a message." I ***g up. What an annoyance. Please prosecute these people.
Incoming call was sent to a special extension for telemarketers. Caller talked so fast that I could not get her name (so****ing like Rosalyn). Said she was calling regarding National Grid and was passed through ten different people to finally get to leave a voice message. Wanted to talk with someone regarding our National Grid Account. Requested that we should call 800-210-9011, Extension 1637 with invoices/bills in our hand so she could discuss further with us.Tone of her voice was very demanding. Hard to believe that someone using her tone expects to get a return call. P.S. - Our recording asks callers to leave the phone number they dialed. Caller did not and probably could not give it. This automatically signals us to a call coming in from a telemarketer. Our central dispatch is excellent in recognizing "junk" calls. If this caller thinks she has been annoyed by being passed from person to person, she should be on the receiving end!
Caller left no message. I called the number left in my caller ID and got an automated message...said it was Pennsylvania Gas & Electric. I have no business with them so I did not stay on the line as the automated message asked.
Did not leave a message.
