Leave a CommentYou know if the number calling you bothers you, ANSWER THE PHONE, then tell them to put you on their do not call list.If you don't do this you're simply perpetuating a problem that you could solve with very minimal effort, and you're proving you are one of those people who'd rather complain than put in the 20 seconds of effort required to fix a problem.
I recieved a call from a very nice lady who said she was from Shaw. She asked if I was happy with my cable service. I told her I didn't have cable. She then said there was a special promotion for 3 months free and then an introductory rate for 5 months after that also no contract and no setup fee. So of course I said OK. We made an appointment and she said all I had to do was give a blank check to the technician. Apparently for the digital cable box. Of course no one came so I called Shaw. They said they knew nothing of this promotion.
ok mumbles... what about the calls that are answered and noone is there?? i personally have received 4 in the last month from this number.just being jack***es is all. bug ppl then not do there job.
Most of you should relax... It IS a pain to receive calls from anyone you don't recognize if they call repeatedly, BUT this IS shaw cable with an actual offer for free cable. I hate random calls like everyone else but this is the way a lot of companies comunicate daily. it's the informatiuon age. how many of the people complaining work for a company that makes these blind calls? its a way of doing business. ALL you have to do is not answer.
I received a call from 8886606382 on my unlisted landline. I googled it, read this page, and learned it was Shaw Cable. Greg, if by calling them ***, you mean their marketing ****ods are bogus, then I agree. I'm heading down to Shaw Cable tomorrow to confront them. We should organize m***** of people to phone their local offices continually, overload their switchboards, and see how they like it.
Recently signed up for service with Shaw cable and likely at that time I provided them with my cell number and that's the number they call. That makes me particularly ****ed off.
It makes me want to stop my shaw service...
was called no answer pain in the but tried calling back no ans
I just recieved this call A***N ***
Stop the harrassment!
It should be illegal to harass people in there own homes like that.I ran to the phone, dropped so****ing in the process, and answered.I asked if it was a solicitor,I got ***g up on.These people are at the very bottom of the food chain, below drug pushers.I would have more respect for them if they were on welfare-ANYTHING is a notch above harassing people in their own homes.Someone could be working from home,or taking care of kids, or very sick-we dont need this ****!Get outta my house!
I hate these ppl. Keep calling me everyday.Jem, there's away to ignor this calls. What I do it, I setup a caller group on my cell phone (mine's nokia). I named the caller group "DND", then I set the ringtone for this group to be silent. This way, you will still know that they call, but won't ring to annoy u. I presently have two numbers in my DND group, one is a friend who kept asking me for borrowing money, and this Shaw cable number.
Calls and then ****s up!Is there a way to block this number?
18886606382 calls me when im at work generally once or twice a day. Never bothered looking it up till now. Figures that its shaw cold calling me for ****** tv service that I would never buy as I dont own a tv.Also when you call the number back it claims to not take incoming calls. Thanks a**holes, even if I was interested I'd have no way to know it was you or get in contact with you.
I received a call from this number last week, it was an automated message left on my voicemail advising of when the phone books in my region would be distributed and as a Shaw customer that since my number was unlisted if I wanted that c****ed to let them know by June 10th.
The same as Louise above except that my number is listed. I have been getting a call from this number at least once per week for the last month.
This number calls my cellphone, which is unlisted, multiple times a day. It's been going on for weeks. There's never anyone there when I answer, and they never leave a message. Does anyone know how to make it stop?
i received a call from this number, no message, just the number on my call display.i have an unlisted number and when i call out, i show on call display as an unidentified number.i have done this for personal reasons, and the people who know me, know about my number. i pay extra for having this service; and it makes me angry that some person or business can still call.i have asked to be taken off call lists as well as mailing lists, and still i get unsolicited mail and calls. what happened to privacy.
Here's the email I just sent to Shaw:Take us off your telemarketing list today this minute! We're aware of the CRTC DO NOT CALL LIST (http://www.crtc.gc.ca/eng/INFO_SHT/t1026.htm) like the one in the U.S. and we know it's not up yet. Nevertheless, show your worthiness of customer approval by providing as a courtesy - even tho you don't HAVE to YET by LAW - a call-back number when these idiots call so that we can be removed from the list. We'll look forward to your compliance with CRTC rules in the future AND your money in damages from Small Claims Court each time you fail!
I received a call from 888-660-6382 and after saying "hello" had to wait a few seconds before someone answered, so immediately I thought "uh, oh...telemarketer." I stayed on the line and the lady I spoke with was polite and told me of a special promotion for one month of free cable TV. I told her that sounded great, but thought the whole time that this can't be real. Afterward, I immediately called Shaw Cable (at 604-629-8888) to make sure the offer I got was legit. The customer service rep said it was indeed legitimate and I wasn't getting charged for anything. PLEASE NOTE:1. The lady I spoke with did NOT ask me, nor did I give her, any account or personal information. If they s**** asking for that stuff, THAT'S when the red flags should come up. 2. Many "800" numbers don't accept incoming calls, so if you try to call the number back, it will just ring and ring or may not work at all.3. My experience was positive, but like ANY company, Shaw employs a few ding-****s. Unfortunately this will never c****e, but you can always **** up :)
