Leave a CommentHe said he represented my telephone carrier and wanted me to know they were reducing my telephone bill by $35 per month permanently. There would be a one time service charge of $35. his accent was so strongly Indian (?) I understood no more.
Just like the rest, stated he was with Qwest and that there were no strings attached. I asked for the # and called it back several times while he was on the line, it is always busy. I asked him to take my # off his list and he said thank you and ***g up. I am sure that he was not from this conuntry!!
He said he was calling from Verizon offering a 35% discount on our service. What a scam!!!
They said they were AT&T and were applying a 35% discount to our lines. They asked for my name, position, and date of birth. I asked him a question or two about our account which he was not able to answer, so I pressed for a number to call to verify that he was in fact with AT&T... this is the number he gave, which of course turned out to be bogus. Basically, same as Chad... total scam.
Claimed to be AT&T my provider - I asked enough questions about them that they gave up on it. Called AT&T and put a protective lock on my long distance provider so that no one else can c****e it.
Got a call as well from an Indian heavy accent man wanting to give me a 35% discount on my phone line and wanted to verify name, date of birth, already new my business name an address. Wanted to record me saying yes to agreing to discount. I kepted asking questions as to why in the***** do you have to call me to give me a discount if your my current service provider AT&T. Just smelled like a scam, kept beating around the bush as they tried to answer my questions.
Said they were from AT&T, my phone company, and wanted to provide 35% savings off bill. Finally gave 888 # & I did a quick google search and found this page. Thick indian accent just like the other callers. Called AT&T who verified it was not someone from their company. Scam...
Yeah, these ****ers called my wife at work wanting her birthdate and maiden name, information often needed to claim authorization to make c****es to your account. Unfortunately, many people make the mistake of giving them the requested information, thinking it will do no harm. NEVER give personal information to incoming callers, you DON'T know who they are, regardless of what they or your caller ID say.
Similar to others below, they call my business claiming to be from AT&T, offering me 35% off my bill. They've called several times over the last couple of weeks, despite me having told them to stop calling. I've been given multiple names, like "Robert", "Dan", etc in a moderately-think Indian accent. The caller ID is "Unknown", and I've only once been able to get them to give me a "call back number", which was this one. Usually they insist on getting a time to call me back. Fairly certain they're slammers.
same story as below, but I asked them if they were from AT&T, and they said yes my service provider - our office uses verizon!
They called me on my business line. They stated that they were from Verizon, my phone service carrier, and that they were offering 35% discount on all my lines. They asked to verify my phone number by giving them all my numbers. I ask them that if they were form Verizon they should know my numbers. They stated that i need to let them know to verify that I am the account holder. I ask though my call that they were from Verizon and they told me that they were. They even gave me an operator ID number when I asked them for it. I called Verizon customer service line as soon as I got off the phone to verify if they were running such program of offering 35% discount to retain existing customers. They said that they were not running such a program and that the caller was a company that was aiming to hijack my line from Verizon.
I was told that he was from AT&T and that I would receive a 35% discount on my phone bill. I asked him three times if he was an employee of AT&T. He said yes. He did not speak english well, but said his name was andy ray... Come on...This is a southern Name. I use to be a Ray.....Anyway I told him off and ***g up on him. He was trying to scam me. I am in the process of talking to AT&T about this. He also wanted my fax number. I told him if he was from AT&T he would have my fax number to go look it up!!!
Hey, I got this call too offering me a discount, but fortunately I could not really understand what the person was saying, so I just ***g up.
martin, with an Indian accent called saying he was from Verizon and was giving a 35% discount. I checked with Verizon and they said it was not them and I was getting slammed
Claimed to be Windstream phone service provider offering an additional 35% discount and tries to obtain lots of personal information. I called Windstream and Windstream confirmed that it was a FAKE/PHONY call and that it was not Windstream that called.
Caller claims to be a representative of Windstream attempting to give a discount to my business. Always asks what my position is at the company. Strange.
Caller stated they were with QWEST and offered a 35% discount on new business long distance calls. I asked them multiple times to connect me to the Customer Service Line- he became rude and continued to ask questions, I finally ***g up and called QWEST - Scam they were trying to become my long distance carrier. Report them to the Public Utilites Commission.
