These calls are made from Allied Interstate debt collectors for people past due on CapitalOne accounts. If a debt collector like Allied Interstate calls you back even one time after you tell them they have the wrong number for the debtor, it is likely a violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. See http//www.fair­debtcollection­practicesact.u­s to file a report that can get you $1,000 under the Act. A complaint to the FTC will do nothing for you, they just put it in a database and eventually do so****ing with enough complaints - like the Do not call list enforcement. Check out the link I provided, you can still get up to $1,000 if they called you after you told them. Repeated calls to your number even if you don't answer is ALSO a violation for which you can collect $1,000. Good luck.

These guys call my house phone up to 15 times a day for the past few months. They do not leave any messages. I used to ignore them, in hope that they would eventually stop calling. When I do pick up, no one is on the other line. After a few days of picking up, somebody finally was on the other line. I kindly asked them to stop calling me, and they said that they would take my name off the list. I stopped receiving calls from them for a good month and now they are BACK. It is driving me crazy because these guys call as early as 8 in the morning to 9 pm. SO****ING needs to be done we these guys.

Calls every hour Monday through Sunday, beginning at 8:15 am until 9:00 pm. Given the number complaints, what can be done about this annoyance.

TheWe have been receiving calls from this number 888-748-4956 for a couple of months. Talked to a live person a while back through re-dial and told them to remove our number. The female/individ­ual I spoke to said that our number would be removed within 24 hrs. Yeah right!!!! Here we are a month later and we are still getting on the average 15-20 phone calls per week, including several on Sundays. Will file an official complaint a***nst them for harrassment.

I let the answering ma****e answer them for when it s****ed I would pick up the phone and hear nothing. Wait then **** up. If it is a computer looking to see if I am home? I went out and bought a phone that will block the calls now, but they keep calling. I t only rings one ring now.

I have two telephone numbers. One is only given to specific people. This company called both numbers. They are looking for personal information. DO NOT provide any personal information. Some say they represent Capital One, if you do have an account with them, call the number on your credit card statement.

Similar to gary s., I am being called by this number about five times a day, s****ing around 8am and ending around 10pm. If I answer, no one is there, and when I don't answer, they obviously don't leave a message. This is getting ridiculous.

Complaints a***nst this # s****ed 3/31/08. Some of the complaints, referred to collection agency for capital one, others as a scam looking for personal information. Why hasn't this number been shut down by now?

I called the number and they were looking for someone who does not live in my home and they ask me for my capital one credit card number which I do not have.

This company called me and told me they were Allied Interstate and were looking for ____ ____. I told them, first off...they don't live here and never did. Second....since when can a business call a residence at 6:44am and wake my entire house up for no good reason.

Today is a Sunday and I would like to spend the day with my family. But the phone is ringing every hour today. Not only the house phone but also my cell phone. My husband ask who is it. People s**** calling me from this number at 7:00 in the morning and don't stop until 11:00 at night. I have gotten 14 calls from them from 7:15-3:00. They asked for my 16 digit credit card number. When I refused to give it to them, they asked for my social security number. They said that they cannot stop the calls until I give them my information. I refused to give them anything. I called my credit card company and there are no problems with my credit card. This has to be a scam!

Since early May 2010, this number has called my home phone several times each day. When my ma****e picks up, there is no message left just a dial tone. The ID reads "Toll Free"........no info there. Why doesn't the phone company just bill these fools like they do us if we make long distance calls?!?!

I've told them repeatedly no one by that name lives at our address and to remove our contact infofrom their files. Yet the calls continue. I called them this morning to promis e legal action if I get another call. Also filing with FTC

When I called back they said they were from Allied Interstate calling on behalf of Capital One and needed my 16 digit card number to verify the status of my account. Obviously I did not give them the information. They are fishing for information, DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION ON ANY OF YOUR ACCOUNTS OR CREDIT CARDS!! If Capital One calls you, they already have your information on file and do not need you to 'verify' anything.

This number calls my work line everyday for four months and up to 30 times per day. When you answer there is no one there. I just filed a local police report, the police department says they are in the FTC caller compalint data base. Police told me they will warn this caller today, if they call back after the warning, I could sue them for each call after the complaint is filed
