Leave a CommentFraud. Calls on behalf of banks to steal your credit card information.
Total scam. Must need money to pay for that expensive house.
They called on behalf of my credit union to confirm fraud on my card as my credit union's member services is closed during the weekend.
Called and said I had fraud on my cc to verify account numbers. I would not give them any information. Called my bank and they said there was NO Fraud.
Not a spammer. Hired by my Credit Union to check on unusual debit card activity.
Legit - as described in other comments.
I called my credit union and they said that this number was a legitimate.
I phone the customer services department of my bank, and they transferred me to the credit card security. They cleared a block on my account, and confirmed that this number is legitimate. The number also appears in my banks website.
called re questionable activity on my CC - said a hold had been placed on the card. Very professional when I called back, only asked my phone number (The called me, so I knew they had it) and the case number they had provided, no other identifying information. Had all recent transaction information, which was fortunately all legitimate. Very nice, very professional.
I called back and felt they were a scam so I called the number on the back of my credit card. They verified this was a legit call from their fraud dept because a large purchase I made online got flagged.
This is a legitimate caller following up on credit card purchases when not your typical purchase area or pattern.
Received a call from this number and verified it with my bank. They are legit.
Legit, My husband was out of state and used his Credit Union Charge. They were checking to make sure the activity was legit.
Legit. I was outta state and charged my new laptop so my bank wanted to confirm it was me.
legit - called about strange charges on my visa credit card
Legit. Monitored unusual charges on my Visa check card. They are contracted by my credit union.
This is legit, they noticed unusual activity on our visa card today with online purchases, and cancelled authorization of future use, we will be sent a new card in about a week.
Scam called for my daughter and she doesn't live here and her bank knows that and the bank said it was a scam
Legit.
There a fake I reported them to my bank and the police.
I got a call and it is legit. The company really helped me informing me about charges one was based out of India. I am very thankful that someone is keeping an eye on things. The matter was cleared up in no time.
credit card security fraud (for BECU in my case). Legit. Google for some credit unions and banks and the phone number ... looks like this is mainly****ociated with credit unions ..http://www.jfcu.org/security_creditcard.asphttp://www.nycu.org/MemberServices/index.htmlhttps://www.penfed.org/aboutUs/contactUs.asp..they caught/stopped someone from using my card.
I had a message to call 888 918 7313 today. I first called the number on the back of my credit card. This number is legitimate, they were checking on su****ious looking purchases. Apparently buying Christmas presents on black friday looked su****ious. Better to be safe than sorry.
I received a call from this number and the person left a message wanting me to verify charges made on my credit card. This is the 2nd day in a row that I received a call requesting this information.
I just got a call claiming they were Hughes Federal Credit Union. They wanted to verify my security info. Now that made me su****ious. I called Hughes and they have no clue to who that number belongs to. I did not call them back.
Completely legitimate. This is PSCU financial services - falcon fraud department. PSCU also does 24 hour customer service for your credit union, call and ask if you are unsure, that is the best way. Yes they are open 24/7/365 even on holidays, that means Sundays too, they will call you up until 9 PM.... your credit union does not have to be open for them to be there!! Anytime you can use your credit or debit card they are there, making sure there is no fraud on your card. In fact, half the time when you call ''your credit union'' you are probably speaking with PSCU. Sometimes the charges they ask you about may seem normal for you, but to their computer there is so****ing flagging it. No need to be concerned. A***n, AS**** While you're at it on here: www.pscufs.com. I did my research!
This is a legitimate call, Falcon Security contracts for Wescom Credit Union.
I just received a phone message from this security service for my bank and they are legit. They noticed activity and charges on my card number being used as a debit, which I never do. I live in the deep south and these charges were being debited in NJ and NY. So, after contact and verification from me that these charges are bogus, they froze that card and sending me a new card and number express, as going on vacation in 5 days. All I can say is that I'm thankful for the security services being on the job.
said they were from becu. Got a call and a follow up letter. Same stuff as other posts.
The number is legitimate. I just made a semi-large money transfer with western union. I was impressed with the security because they would not send the money unless i called to verify I was who I am (that's on top of the visa online security question). After that was done, not even 5 minutes passed when they called to confirm that the transaction was valid. I know it's legit because I did not have to tell them who I made the transaction with, they told me the website and the amount without me saying anything anything about it. I'd think that the reason donal above got the call is because someone else who has a debit card with their bank might have accidentally transposed some numbers or whom ever did the data entry. They'll find out soon enough when their card gets de-activated for security.
We got a call from PSCU tonight from this number as well. The charges they caught -- totalling several thousand dollars charged to local businesses but not by us -- are definitely fraudulent. But the person on the phone, and the several other people at PSCU we called back and spoke to, didn't know anything and couldn't explain anything. Out of the blue I get this phone call saying there's fraud, they have an entirely different credit card number listed than my card number but it's apparently affiliated with my name and this address. None of the 3 credit reporting agencies show any fraudulent credit accounts or inquiries, but there's all these charges the person lists off. How did they get our name and information? Who asked them to call? What are these charges, if it's a different card, why isn't it showing up on my credit report? The PSCU people couldn't answer anything. And now it's 9pm on a Friday night and I'll have to wait until Monday to call my credit union. Seems really fishy to me. The whole thing.
Calls from the number 888-918-7313 are coming from PSCU Financial Services (http://www.pscufs.com/) - I know this because I had a rather heated discussion with them several times relative to my credit union account. Apparently several credit unions hire these people to be a "watch dog" on your card purchases to check for possible fradulent activity and catch it before it becomes a huge problem. The only problem is ... from my perspective at least, they appear to be opperating solely as a call center who seems to periodically call you and question you about charges which they say are su****ious. In my experience, the majority of the charges they have asked me about were reoccuring charges that should not have appeared to be su****ious at all. I wonder if they do any real fraud checking or just call to reasure you that they are wat****g and you can feel safe. In my case there have been three su****ious charges on my account in the last twelve months. Neither of them was detected by PSCU as su****ious. But, I noticed them and disputed them and reported them to the FBIs Internet Fraud detection service and never had another problem after that. The last time PSCU called me they had already put a hold on my account for what they thought was a su****ious charge but, as it turns out it was not su****ious at all. I think they are just pests and I wish my Credit Union would fire them! I'm suggesting that in a well do***ented letter about my experience with them in which I intend to copy thier CEO as well.
The caller is the fraud department for PSCU Financial Services. PSCU provides credit and debit card processing and fraud services to over 500 credit unions in the US.Their fraud department provides activity monitoring services and will contact cardholders on behalf of the credit union to verify su****ious activity.
Checked my Bank's Website.Falcon Security along with the Number (888)918-7313 is listed on there home page under credit cards.Falcon is Legit, I attached the link to my Credit Union Contact us page if anyone wants to see for themselves.https://www.penfed.org/aboutUs/contactUs.asp
This was a call from the security dept on behalf of my credit union regarding my visa debit card. Someone was repeatedly trying to make charges to my account with a wrong expiration date. I called the credit union first to identify that the call was legit and they had a note on my account that the security dept contacted me by phone and left a message. My credit union mentioned the name Falcon. Sounds like Falcon is a contracted credit card fraud monitoring en***y who works for many banks/credit unions. I am on an autoship program for my vitamins. Turns out the company I purchase them from transitioned from one system to another and so****ing happened causing them to ping my debit card in error several times. I was glad for the call from Falcon!
This is a legit call. Visa fraud dept. caught nearly $1,500 in unauthorized charges to my card and put a hold on the account before the charges posted. Was able to get the card canceled, identify the fraudulent charges so they didn't show up on the new account and prevent new charges in a matter of minutes. This is not your bank, and they should not ask you for an account number--they already have it. Mine usually only asks for phone number they left the message on, and last 4 digits of SS number to verify that I am the owner of the account. Maybe birth month/day, too.
Received a call claiming to be my bank with regard to debit M/C purchases made recently. Illegal call since misrepresentation along with timeliness of hour of call. Obviously they read a credit report to get basic info.
I got a letter, purportedly from the Credit/Debit card ***nch of my bank. THey want me to call them at that number (8889187313) or 7272992449 to talk about "activity that may be outside our members' normal purchase patterns.". Dated Jan 22, 2008. They list a local (to me) address (PO Box 958471, Lake Mary, FL 32795-8471. But the letter has no logos on it. They want me to call and verify my phone number because the number that they have on file is no longer valid. Which is weird since I've had the same home phone number for about 20 years.
claim to work on behalf of my bank and irregular purchases have been noted via internet and want me to call to verify.
