Leave a CommentJust got a call from a 1-888-997-2853 claiming to be comcast, offering a huge discount if I pre-paid my internet for a year for $420. He knew my name, email address and when my xfinity service began. (How???) He emailed me the details of this promotion from a comcast email address: [email protected] To pay, I need to get the “green dot money oak” master card, to be bought with CASH from someplace like: CVS Pharmacy, Kroger, Walgreens’ 7/11, Kmart, Circle K, Rite Aid, RadioShack. (Uhhhhhh, didn’t Radio Shack close down??) The email is signed: Shak Donson • Employee ID 40R1 • Ext 751 • Loyalty Rewards Department • Comcast Xfinity Comcast referred me to their Legal Response Center at 866-947-8572 (Hours: M-F 8:30 am to 5:00 pm EST) to have it investigated.
They know basically everything about my Comcast account. I asked several questions to see if they are legit and they could correctly answer most of them. They wanted a credit card number to get the next six months at an incredible price if I paid for them all up front. I gave them nothing, but they won't stop calling.
