Leave a CommentThey spent 20 mins on the phone trying to get my credit card # an got a lil irritated when i was not giving it to them. They told me they need the credit card # cuz only 2day they can send out the tickets to the Carribbean ( i live in Trinidad!) What a bunch of sorry losers- mapquest there address- have a cousin in the FBI i mentioned the matter to- so i hope ASTAR is reading this- u jus got figured out!!!!
I received the same call last week. They told me they would call if I won and of course I won. My husband got very upset with them and told them never to call a***n. They said it was true, my husband said, let me guess you want my Credit Card number, they said of course we do. It was a scam, now I can't delete the email that they sent me. I hope these people get caught. Don't give anyone your Credit Card over the phone. Can't trust anyone. Doreen, Nova Scotia
I am in B.C. and I got a call today from the same people everyone described above (ASTARFUN and Raddisson) but from a slightly different number (905-456-0500). They knew my name and city where I lived. At first I thought it was from a hotel I had stayed on vacation and they wanted to do a survey but by the end it was obviously a scam and they said they would call back if I won but it is obviously to finish the con. I am on the Do Not Call list so I have reported them. Hopefully they will get that large fine the government promised when they introduced the DNC list.
Hey I'm a winner to!!! I think it is kind of legit but I also think it is a Time Share Deal. There would be some hidden costs but it would be a cheap vacation. If you did go on it though be prepared to face some serious high pressure sales that would take up a lot of your vacation time. They are going to try to sell you time shares or some kind of version of them.
Lisa Lu asked where we were writing from...I signed in as "From Ca***a - 16 Apr 2009" and I live in Saskatchewan, too.And BTW, Samantha Green from Halifax, NS, of course, if you use your visa with w***ver, it will be a legit transaction, because YOU were the one who authorized that payment to a con-travel agency (which BTW may exist as such). When are you going on holidays? Maybe you work for ASTAR!!!!!Sorry..... don't trust you either....Enjoy your trip...???
I got the "survey" call on April 21st and the "you won the trip" call today. It is such bs but I gave Kathleen Spencer Employee # 907 a c****e to spit it all out. I told her that we didn't trust them one bit. She said that this promotion was only offered to select Manitoba families who met the requirements. I told her that I wasn't prepared to give out my credit card number and she replied "well, you don't expect us to send you this travel package worth $3,885 US without any guarantee on your part, do you?"Well excuse me but I was initially told that my family won an 11 day cruise vacation just for parti****ting in a survey. I hope they don't get a cent and end up paying millions for the lawsuit.Did anyone who got this call actually give out their credit card #?
I just finished talking with "Sasha" Employee #664 from All Seasons Travel Radisson. Right from the get-go two days ago when I did the survey, I was su****ious. But, I listened to what she had to say, just in case it was legit. I had "won" this all-inclusive package to Orlando, Ft. Lauderdale, and the Ba*****. All I had to pay was the $249/person port fee. Then I was eligible for the extra 2 travel packages for Las Vegas (3d, 2n), and Peurot Valarta (5d5n)....for only $349/person. She then proceeded to ask me for my credit card info so I wouldn't lose out on this fantastic promotion! Umm, I thought I'd won it. Doesn't a promotion imply I'm buying so****ing? I told her I was very hesitant, and she said I could go on-line and check out their website (astarsun.com) and see it was legit. She told me her full name (Sasha Secan) and employee # 664. She told me that my info had been given to their company because I had either stayed at a Radisson hotel or rented a car in the States and was considered a "VIP". I have done neither. I told her so. This totally caught her off-guard. She said that they are affiliated with many other companies and that one of them must have given them my info. I then asked her that if I had "won" the Orlando/Ft.Lauderdale/Ba***** trip, and it was supposed to be free, why couldn't they send me the package without getting my credit card info? A***n, she didn't know what to say. I told her I'm just protecting myself. She said, yes, she understands this. A***n, she told me to go look at their website. I said, their site might look legit, but it could totally be made up. She talked about how the call was being recorded for my protection and that I had to give verbal confirmation that I was authorizing charges to my credit card. Ya, so you can scam me. She said, "In a restaurant, you give your credit card to a server, and they WALK AWAY with it! How can you trust that?" I was thinking that if the server used your card illegally, you have a***** of a better chance at the credit card company protecting you than if you have given voice authorization over a phone. It's just proof for All Seasons to get you with. I told her I thought she was scamming me. "But I gave you my full name and employee number. Why would I give you my name if this wasn't a legitimate promotion?" LOL. I told her it could be a fake name. She was quite offended and told me to go look her up on Facebook. So, long story short, I told her I wouldn't be giving her any information over the phone. She asked me if she could move on to the next eligible customer on her list. ****. How many are there? So, I said, "No." She sat there silent, then asked me why not. I said, "Because you are trying to scam people." Well, that ended the conversation. I kind of had fun playing with her. Hehe.Where are all of you writing from? I'm in Saskatchewan, Ca***a. The phone area code 905 is Ontario, so I****ume this scam is taking place only in Ca***a.Well, thanks for reading. Have a fabulous day! And "winner" be ware!
I received the same call the other day and I actually did some research on it called their 1 800 number while I was on the phone with them and I actually secured my vacation! plan on taking it this summer. But I understand where everybody else is coming from, I mean I knew right from the jump it wasn't free but I mean $698 for my whole family and the only additional charge is airfare like its great. And given that meals are not included in Orlando it allows us the flexibility to eat wherever we want and not be stuck with hotel food because let's face it all inclusive or not sometimes the food ****s! So we can roam around in the rental car, it's a good deal in m opinion and it's a win, win for both parties. I spoke to Sandra # 905 she was a really sweet lady, and was quite patient with me. It's really not a scam I called visa after wards and all is legit! Sincerely Samantha Green Halifax, NS
We live in Kamloops BC and received the same call 2 days ago and then received the information package via e-mail. I decided that it sounded too good to be true so I s****ed looking on line. I am glad that I found your site. I definitely won't be taking any further calls from them in the future.

Stop them from calling
Hi there,I got the same phone call(April 14th, 2009): First a lady (very nice, btw) mentioned that if I did the 2 min telephone "Nat'l Travel Survey" I could win an all inclusive vacation package to Florida and a cruise to the Ba*****. I believe that 4 key questions they asked were: where and when I took my last holidays and how much I spent and which type of credit card I used (they did not asked my credit card number--which of course I was not going to provide). They had all my information (name, address, phone number...of course) but they requested my email address so they would let me know if I was a winner. Next morning there was the exact message posted above from Astar Radisson Rewards ([email protected]). This email included pictuires and logos of the Radisson, Carnival Cruise Lines, Dollar auto-rental, All-Seasons Travel, etc...Of course, I didn't fall for it. So I called to the Radisson (Worldwide Reservations: +1-888-201-1718) and they told me that they were aware of this scam and that they are now taking legal actions. Anyway, later that day I got the call from the Astar thieves and ask me that I was a winner and that they were going to give me the information so I could claim my prize. I told them I am not interested and that I got myself informed about what they were trying to do. The lady said that that was not true and that she was very sorry I felt that way, because I was not accepting the prize...and that they were a Legitimate Travel Agency that probably not everybody at the Radisson knew about it....etc etc. At the end I said: whether it is true or not I am not interested, I will not take or claim any prize, I do not provide my credit card number over the phone (TO ANYBODY-NEVER-even in legitimate calls...sorry, but not) and to please remove my name and information from their system. I haven't called the Carnival Cruise Lines, so if anybody has, please, let us know what they have to say about it.
They called and I did the travel survey. The next night they called a***n and said that a won a Flordia/Ba***** cruise for 4. I asked her what the cost was to me and she said that she couldn't give a price right now as they haven't completed the package yet but they would pay 80% and we would pay 20%. What kind of company calls you and tells you you've a trip and can't answer your questions and also if you have won a trip isn't it suppose to be FREE. The is BS. They also said they were going to send me an email but have never done that. They are suppose to call me a***n but I won't be answering the phone. Thanks for the information from the above comments!
complete B.S.!! very demanding and pushy. when the fiance gave them a inaccurate credit card #, and got tired of listening, she ***g up. They called back right away and that's when I got on the phone. after sear****g the web, the same spiel which is on this site is EXACTLY what they told her. She asked where they were calling from and was told florida. When I refused to let them talk to my fiance, a "supervisor" was put on the line. I asked him the same and he said Toronto....oops! Then he went into some B.S. about this being a very serious matter that they were given a fraudulent credit card number, I told him fine, call the police and ***g up. They called back a***n while I was reading about astarfun.com on this site and that it was a scam!!!They didn't call back.....Yet.there is a site where this can be reported to in ca***a....www.phonebusters.ca People Beware!!! MANY THANKS TO THIS SITE SO THAT WE WERE ABLE TO CHECK OUT THE POSTS
I'm a winner, too. Just have to pay all the fee's. Nothing is free. I'm walking away from this one.
I received the same call last night. I didn't give them my email address but they already had my home address. They (she) told me I needed the confirmation number if/when I was contacted that I won the trip. Sounds fishy, not buying it. The number ended in 0***
I received exactly the same as above. They phoned about 3 times now and either I am not home or I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. I didn't see anything about them covering airfare in the email so knew that would be extra, and it did mention that Port and departure fee was applicable... but down at the bottom of the email it stated this:"Transportation, meals (meals & entertainment included on cruise), hotel and car taxes are the responsibility of the traveler."... which leads me to believe that all along the trip you are going to be dinged for extra costs! Not falling for it!
My girlfriend got this call as well, a few days ago that number had called and said that she could do this survey and get a chance to win a vacation. A day or 2 after she did the survey they called back but we did not answer the phone and they did not leave a message. They called a couple more times over the next few days and did not leave a message. Today they called back and my girlfriend the phone and they had said that she had won and that all she has to pay for was the flight to Florida and 250 to the port authorty for the cruise. It sounded like bs to me, if she had really won so****ing you'd figure that they would have left a message. Also if she had booked tonight she would have gotten the 2 bonus vacations. They had put my girlfriend on hold and she was telling me about it and I told her that is sounded like bs and to **** up.
I received the exact same phone call today. Sounded like BS to me. I still listened however. Caller said name was Hira and gave employee number 746.
