- Indian Accent, Male- Had no info but my last name and phone number - Claimed to call from ICCC- Claimed to have lower interest rate- Insisted in getting my credit card number to check my balance and giving me a good rate!- Trying to make the conversation longer and longer
like the rest of you, i've been getting this and other messages like this "lowering your credit card interest rates" for months...i get numerous calls a day with no messages left...i unfortunately gave them some info so i closed my accounts...scary how persuasive this person can be...there were 3 steps to the program...and i spoke to 3 different guys...step one...buddy named josh matthews---same indian flavoured voice like you all are saying...and yes he got aggressive at times as well as patronizing and throw a little condescending in there just for fun, when i questioned him...step two was another indian sounding guy...he went on and on about interest rates and how he could save me 1,300.00 if i would ...blah blah blah....so i said..well what's in it for you?..he said a one time amount of 695$ but it wouldn t show up on my bill...he****ured me nothing would c****e...so we moved along to the 3rd and final step in the whole torturous process...the step where they recorded you( or me in this case)"agreeing" to their deal.....well at this point, i felt more and more "rushed" and confused and stopped buddy and said no...not gonna do it...he sent me back to "josh" step one guy.....then he pulled out his ******** sales s****s and asked me why and pretty much wouldn t let me off the phone without me having to be rude...so i said.."i am not interested and have yourself a good nite"...click....and what do you know...my buddy josh called the next day at dinner time...asked why i ***g up and refused to wheel and deal.....i told him i wasn't interested and a few more words, but a***n he got aggressive so it was "have a nice nite" and click....not 15 minutes later the same phone number comes thru....can you believe the nerve???i'm still trying to get through with phone busters....other numbers buddy gave me were-403-648-9228 ext,2998and the company number 1-888-216-5028i've learned a valuable lesson over this momentary ******ity...
This seems like a scam and that area code is from Pickering, Ontario
They called this afternoon. I gave some general info on one card, (balance and limit), and when they asked about another card, I ended the call. Should I be worried? I sent a brief email to the suggested "phonebusters", but should I call equifax or visa?
they just called us this morning. same story, want to reduce our interest rate...
PhoneBusters is a national anti-fraud call centre jointly operated by the Ontario Provincial Police and the Royal Ca***ian Mounted Police. PhoneBusters plays a key role in educating the public about specific fraudulent telemarketing pitches. www.phonebusters.comI recieved a call from this number but did not answer the phone. Then searched the number to figure out who it was. Thanks god I did not answer. Above website is where you should be reporting this so the police can warn and investigate.
they called me and wanted all tis info about my card and expiry datesi told them i wanted to call someone to fund out if this was legitcould barely understand them
Thought it was a scam! Indian speaking man poor english asking for Mrs___ and I asked who they were. He asked one question.."IS Mrs ___ having trouble making bill payments?" I asked for the company said what I thought was NCR? I don't usually answer my non-caller id phone. Wish I hadn't. Found this website. This is definately reportable to RCMP authorites...I too am very tired of all these calls. They are on the increase I receive at least 2 -3/week on average now~don't answer them and they don't leave a message.
I get calls from this number every day and am so fed up of telling them I'm not interested. They say they want to reduce my credit card interest but were sketchy about their relationship with the credit card company. DO NOT TRUST THEM! The caller named "Mark Wilson" (?) became rude and aggressive, until I told him where to go and ***g up on him. He then had the nerve to call bac**** It is infuriating that there is no protection by our phone companies from these types of callers. It's at the point where I don't answer my home phone anymore.
I just had the same phone call this morning! The man said he was from VISA and Mastercard (Since when did they team up). Anyway, he wanted to lower my interest rate to less than 5%, then asked me for a bunch or credit info like my current balances, credit limits and interest rate...and so on. I just told him that if he actually worked for my credit card company he would have know all of those answers... He was getting very rude so I told him NO and ***g up. He repeatedly called me back asking why I ***g up! Can you believe this guy!!
Codinguy:If you think you've been scammed try going here www.phonebusters.com ...they can help.cheers.
Just got a call from this number and found this web site. They tried to collect all kinds of info about my credit card. I gave the the expiry date but not the number. I also gave them the wrong phone number on the back of the card. (ha). When they asked for the 3-digit number on the back I said i wasn't going to give them that on the phone and they ***g up. I called them back and told them i was going to report them, which i would like to do. anybody know who I should call to report them. Is it the police, or is there a fraud investigations unit of the RCMP, i'm in vancouver these guys are obviously somewhere in ontario.
Got several times phone call from this number, but the caller didn't leave any *****ge.
Someome from this number called me speaking an indian language. When I said*****o the asked"is this Mrs.____?" when I said yes, they hug up.
They keep calling me at the same time every hour of every day and never answer the phone. I am sick of receiving calls from these people late at night and early morning. I am now at the point of unplugging my telephone at nights so I can sleep. DISGRACEFUL!
this person Mr. Mark Benson on ext 269 called to say they reduced the interest rate on my master card and visa and tried to collect info about all my cards i am really disturbed.i must report this to the theft beauro of intellectual property
MCSprograms is calling a***n for reducing your Visa/MC rates...trying to say they are calling from Visa. Very hard to get information out of them, to the point that they told me Bob Villa is the president of their company. BBB has given this company a D-...should be lower, its a scam. Out of Tacoma,WA? or Dallas, TX? Very sketchy.
