This number was pretending to be an actual company named Lending Point. I applied for loans through a website and was sent an approval code and letter. I contacted the number and left a message. After that I decided to contact their customer service. I looked up the number on the Lending Point website. After speaking to them and forwarding the do***ents I was sent, they informed me that in fact the do***ents were not from their company and they had no record of my application or approval. I was told to contact my bank as well as the BBB. The next day I received a call from the number on the do***ents sent to me. A woman with a foreign accent asked me if I wanted to proceed with the loan. I told her no and explained that I spoke to the company’s customer service and that they had no record of my application or approval and that I was told it was a scam. She ***g up the phone.
