He said that he had a VRBO available that had recently been canceled at a discounted price.
I'm based in UK. Purported to have access to many Vrbo French holiday lets at reduced prices. Somehow hijacked my emai to or from genuine lettings agency. Fortunately I smelled a rat and have taken it no further.
Damian meyer used a Link on VRBo to tell me a vacation property was available. He asked for money on Wise to Ireland. Total scam I am out 2000 dollars. Do I have any leverage here? Inquiry @vacationrentalz.com was the address he used.

Text (from a completely different number) purported "an unusual Login" on my Amazon account, giving this number to call directly.

Tells my mother to contact this number for a agent "Bruce" to get free $700 from Tmobile. They target elderly
Tried to sell me a VRBO vacation rental for a price that is to good to be true.
I inquired about rental home down the keys and this guy came along but when he sent me the property with the VRBO link, the date I selected was booked. As I was trying to probe more questions on his legitimacy he then stopped corresponding. Phone# is also currently disconnected 9174754583.
Wow! I am delighted to see the comments from all the below, as I had by suspensions and bingo this has now been affirmed! Out of the blue email from [email protected], Rentals by owners - offering low price for luxurious villa fully booked on VRBO and booking.com. He says he works for VRBO,...... Every time I asked for his website and asked if legit it was ignored..... UK
Just had an email sent to my sister today after looking for a chalet. Be careful. Rentals by Owners / [email protected] I need the following details again: check-in/out dates, number of bedrooms, and your preferred location. If you have a budget (min-max) in mind, it will help me choose the best one for you. I manage a lot of properties and I can offer an attractive discount.
Was totally tipped off when he said he needed the VRBO deposit wired to Ireland. Was going to give me a discounted rate because of a recent cancellation. Emailed me outside of the VRBO system after doing a lot of emails to property managers.
Emailed me after searching vrbo rentals in SW Florida. He offered me a rental that was already booked and verified by the host company that he told me was used. (917) 475-4583 Was the number he gave me to call him. [email protected] Was email used.
Same story as above. Cold mailed me after I made a lot of enquiries to other online booking agencies for long term accommodation in France. He found an amazing place, great price but wanted full payment upfront. He sent a contract with details of the house owner a "Doctor" living in Dublin but checked out to be a post office!.We were saved by the fact he became sloppy and desperate for money.
Damian emailed me about a VRBO that was available, that was already booked on the site. Said he could get em a better rate. Red flags went off when I asked him for his business information and he did not reply with it, but rather saying he will send me a contract when he gets into his office. I knew it was "too good to be true!" DO Not let this guy scam you.
He first emailed me about an available property on VRBO that was available due to a last minute cancellation. It aligns with everyone's stories posted. Texted me from 917-475-4583. Glad I searched up his number!
Exact experience - reached out offering a VRBO/Air BNB that was already booked via email from [email protected]. He claimed that the reason it was unavailable on VRBO was because there was a cancellation in process of being refunded and that he was the property manager. He said he would follow up with a contract explaining everything. The number he gave me was 917-475-4583.
Same story...used name Damian Janssen with me. And I was lucky my property of interest just had a cancellation & offered me a very low fee!!! Said he worked with 365 & VRBO.
said they would give me 700 in money if i sent them a code
T-mobile bonus trying to get me to them a code send to my phone, I called T-mobile they said it's a scam
I'm a VRBO owner and this person reached out to guests searching for my home and even sent them a contract and payment info. How do we stop him?
Received an email from “Damien” offering a condo in Florida with a VRBO listing…looked at listing and already booked! Price very low too….a total SCAM!
Got an email from [email protected]. Asking if I got his message regarding a rental. I’ve honestly been messaging a lot of people so I didn’t know what it was for. He then asked me all my trip details again because “he manages a lot of properties and will get me the best deal.” How do they get your email if they aren’t actually on VRBO.
Exactly what has been described in other entries here. I am so humiliated to say "I fell for it back in June" and now my entire family is without a vacation home for Christmas and we are out $2800 of my mother's inheritance. Sick to my stomach. Is there anything that can be done?
his email is also [email protected] fake websites: https://www.vrbo.com/385702ha?adultsCount=20&arrival=2021-12-31&departure=2022-01-02 https://www.hilltopmansion.com/ https://www.vrbo.com/7378631ha?adultsCount=20&arrival=2021-12-31&departure=2022-01-02 https://www.rentbyowner.com/property/majestic-hilltop-castle-everything-brand-new-stunning-one-of-a-kind/HA-7378631
asked to send him money (personally, not through vrbo)for already booked by someone house saying that it was canceled last minute that is why they are giving us it not for 11000 but for 5000
Same situation as many of the above complaints. He emailed me and offered properties at a discounted rate from VRBO. Luckily I researched him before I finalized anything.
Damian said he had a Florida Keys VRBO rental available that showed as fully booked on VRBO. Said he was in New York, and that we needed to pay a service in Ireland to book it. Reached out to VRBO owner and they don't know this guy and the rental is definitely not available. It's 100% a scam.
I responded to several ads for via a text in form for a vacation rentals on the site and he was my only response. Never sent me photos etc. he just gave me his full name. Hasn’t called me yet.
Same as above offered a vacation rental and said to pay via Wise money transfer app to Dublin Ireland to the owners of the rental rather than pay on VRBO to avoid the more expensive price and fees.
Damian Miller emailed and offered a discounted vacation home that was already booked on VRBO. He said it was last minute cancellation and he can reserve it once the other party is refunded. He asked for my name, home address, and phone number so he can write up a vacation rental contract. I googled his name and found this to be a fraud. The phone number he gave was: 917-675-4887.
He said the same as above and offered me a holiday home on vrbo that was already booked. I have looked up pricing and it was heavily discounted so alarm bells rang and I googled!! I’m from the Uk
emailed me to offer me discounted prices on a party house for my hen do, he told me he was in New York and gave me his US number +1-917-675-4887 to contact him as he was on a business trip. When I asked about my dates being not available on the website he said there was a last minute cancellation and that he couldn’t update the website until the refund had processed. This happened to me in the UK
Why r they calling me
When I looked at a vacation rental online a Damian Miller (tel 917 2678544) emailed saying he had a similar property, last minute cancellation- same as the other comments. Wanted money sent by WISH transfer to Dublin Ireland. This is a FRAUD. I have contacted the FBI but please post any additional info.
Same situation as many of the above complaints. He emailed me and offered properties at a discounted rate from VRBO. Luckily I researched him before I finalized anything.
Damian Miller contacted me using the email address: [email protected] offering me a villa on VRBO at a discounted price. He wanted money transferred to Ireland. The rental contract he sent me looks quite legit but there were a few giveaways it was a scam. Avoid this evil scammer!
Rentals by Owners Tue, Aug 31, 4:14 PM (19 hours ago) to me Hi Dena, Regarding your inquiry, I need the following details again: check-in/out dates, number of bedrooms, and your preferred location. If you have a budget (min-max) in mind it will help me choose the best property for you. I manage a lot of properties and I can offer an attractive discount. Thank you, Damian
Addition information This person emailed me from [email protected].
A Damian Miller emailed me about a vacation property in Vrbo, the link directs me to a booked property. When question, he said it was a last minute cancellation and wants to offer it to me a half the cost, asked for personal information and said he will call once in the office. This is a spammer.
Did this person try to scam you? Report him to the FTC for wire fraud. https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/#/
More info for the person with a detective. This guy wanted us to send full payment up front to a Jude Augustine in Dublin, Ireland. [email protected]. 71 Leeson Street Lower; Post code: D02 VE04 They wanted us to use this service: https://wise.com/us/send-money/send-money-to-ireland
More about his use of the [email protected]: I heard from him after sending a query through this web site: https://www.holidayrentalsbyowner.com Perhaps this helps the person who has detectives on his trail.
Approached us by email after I'd submitted info request to a property management company in Oahu. Tried to sell us a VRBO condo rental, asking for payment in full, to be sent to Ireland. Same game he was playing with person who reported him on July 5. With us, he used the email address [email protected].
Mark Miller is Joseph Fahnstock lives in Kansas DO NOT DO ANY TYPE OF BUSINESS WITH HIM HE IS A SCAMMER HE TAKES MONEY FOR CONDO'S IN DESTIN THAT HAVE ALREADY BEEN RENTED OUT....HE HAVE DONE THIS MANY TIMES EXPOSE HIM.
This person is using VRBO he is a scam artist donot send him your info or your money his real name is not even Mark Miller I have detectives on his trail beware DO NOT SEND HIM YOUR MONEY OR YOUR INFO ....SCAM....SCAM...SCAM
as above, tried obtain bank transfer for VRBO property that he said was recently cancelled
Mark Miller just "cussed me out" in an email... he is not who he says he is. He kept pushing for my personal information (name, address, money, etc) for a Destin condo rental that was already booked. I contacted the VRBO host for this particular condo and they did not know this clown.
Same as the other comments... the guy sent me a text saying that he could get me a great deal on a condo in Destin, FL. He said the previous person cancelled and that the website could not be updated because the refund needed to process first. I contacted the VRBO host... they do not know this Mark Miller. SCAMMER!
Received an email from him saying the property was available in FL but on VRBO it was all booked. Contacted property management that was listed on VRBO and they said that they don't know who he is. Was very fishy when in the contract he wanted the payment to be sent to Ireland because the owner moved there....... such a SCAM please be careful.
I just received an email from Mark Miller Unique Trips and am researching if this is a scam. I have been scammed once already and am doing my due diligence to make sure. This person sent me a VRBO link stating that the home is available but on the site it says it is booked and when asked he said that the people cancelled and he is waiting for a refund to process before he can update the site. I smell something fishy....
Person says he is Mark Miller and works for vacation rentals by owner. SCAM.
This person is a scammer who sells vacation rentals that do not exist. Beware!

CB Today it was a male caller -- they always have a foreign accent -- his was Asian Indian. If/when they give a name, it definitely is false because it does not "fit" the accent. Phoned me 5 x today. Will not stop calling. They are just an annoyance with small little pea-sized brains... obviously being paid some small fee by someone who wants to harass American citizens.

Gems A woman left a recording on our answering saying that the IRS was filing a law suit against us and that we were to call 917-267-7945 immediately for more information. An Indian gentleman answered saying, "IRS." When I asked what the call was all about he asked for my name and other personal information because he didn't have our files pulled yet. I paused for a few moments and then told him I wasn't interested. I expected some kind of rebuttal but he just hung up. I LOVE TO JERK THEIR CHAINS AND WASTE THEIR TIME!!!
An IRS scamming crew uses this phone number. These perpetrators use an automated phone messaging system to frighten people into believing they are in trouble with the IRS when they are not. A female voice in the message threatens a lawsuit if the victim does not call them back at the number provided. The goal is to cheat victims out of money. The perps use public telephones at places like airports and train stations to make their threatening calls. By using a public phone, they can’t personally be connected to the phone number. Don’t be fooled and don’t give them any information about yourself.
Not Important 917-267-5566 just called our business. Claimed to be calling from Google Plus (aka US Directory). This call was NOT from Google. When pressed for more information about his company, the idiot on the other end didn't even know where Google is located. Reporting the call directly to Google, as well as to the FCC, the FTC, and the Attorney General's Office of New York. This company is clearly participating in misrepresentation and fraud.
Still calling everyday dooough
Same here need call block
Terry Luft I get three to four calls a day from these loosers, no one ever says a word. I no longer answer but they still continue to call. I wish there was something I could do to stop it.

Mike Smith Guru's verifying the phone number that you gave it. Maybe he should text instead?
Justin Freid This is Number Guru's own phone number, maybe he should register an update his listing.
Sher I called the # and it was a recording asking if I want to lower my rates for electricity? At least it is a working # ?!
Go on linksnotallowed.DONOTCALL.GOV and put your number on the goverments do not call list. This should stop thses people from calling you because it's against the law for them to call you, harass you and try to solicit business from you and you don't want their service(s). It takes a little while but after that, if they call you, you will be able to press charges, etc. The gov. will go after them.
I just had Con Ed put a block on my service so that this company will not be able to try and sign me up or anything else. And I called my telephone company and reported them and will get the necessary parties involved to help expose them and fine them, etc. They will also call you with the id TROY, TMD Energy, 512-687-1444, Startel, LLC 512-346-2500, etc. They are all from the same stupid company who is suffering because they can't get any business and they're angry.
I get dozens of calls from this number Calling themselves STARTEL,LLC or TMC ENERGY and they will not stop calling. They call dozens of times through out the day and harrass our family. I want to file a complaint against them and press charges and get the person or persons behind this to be arrested and fined for causing so many people, so much grief.
Unknown I keep getting calls from this number and they do not say anything. When I call the number back, it states that the number is not in service? If that is the case, how does this person keep calling me from this phone number?
David calls , no message
