Leave a CommentIt is the Chase fraud department, they call when your atm/debit card is blocked for some reason. Apparently their caller id comes up on some phones, but not all. I told them how when you call back - the call goes right into a recording asking for your debit card number (hence the worry by many of us that it is a scam) and he literally said "so..." i suggested that leaving a recorded message or having a greeting stating what company you've called back might help to get a response. He said that everyone calls back eventually, and besides, there's nothing he could do about it. I though that since he's part of the fraud department, they might actually care that they are being interpreted as a****ential scam number on some message boards, and he said - well then you were reading the message board wrong (even though I had told him that I saw accounts that it was both a scam and Chase and was trying to determine which) Definitely not the customer service department!
It is a scam they call and try to get your debit card #.
