It is the Chase fraud department, they call when your atm/debit card is blocked for some reason.  Apparently their caller id comes up on some phones, but not all.  I told them how when you call back - the call goes right into a recording asking for your debit card number (hence the worry by many of us that it is a scam) and he literally said "so..."  i suggested that leaving a recorded message or having a greeting stating what company you've called back might help to get a response.  He said that everyone calls back eventually, and besides, there's nothing he could do about it.  I though that since he's part of the fraud department, they might actually care that they are being interpreted as a****ential scam number on some message boards, and he said - well then you were reading the message board wrong (even though I had told him that I saw accounts that it was both a scam and Chase and was trying to determine which)  Definitely not the customer service department!

Received a call from this number. Don't give them your personal info.

I received a call from 925 738 0227.  They answered as Wamu Fraud Dept "Can I have your account # please"?  I told the Indian man I wasn't going to give him any information because how do I know he's from WAMU?  He stumbled over his words.  He offered to transfer the call to the WAMU Debit card Fraud Dept (apparently he was calling about my WAMU credit card - I don't have one).  I said don't transfer me to someone else in your building who's going to tell me they're from WAMU.  You're still not getting any info from me.  I called WAMU Fraud Dept.  THEY DO NOT HAVE A DEPT USING THIS PHONE NUMBER OR ANY PHONE NUMBER FROM THE 925 AREA CODE (Southern California)  THIS IS A SCAM - DON'T GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION.  WAMU DOES NOT CALL AND SOLICIT PERSONAL INFORMATION FROM THEIR CUSTOMERS.

this number belongs to Washington Mutual card services - they wanted me to verify a recent su****ious credit card purchase.

Female voice and one week later Male voice called asking for my son who has not lived here for 5 years.  I told them that he no longer lives here and they asked for his current phone number.  The female voice claimed that she was en***led to his cell phone number since "this was important".  I told them both that I would try to get he to call them back and was given the # 1-800-280-9441 and the statement that they were washington mutual.  I later got a hold of my son.  He has no accounts of any kind with washington mutual!

got a call from this 925-738-5506 on my cell phone on name showing on caller id just number...no voice mail was left

I received a call from this number and before I picked up, Googled it. They verified everything. I called back WAMU and they indeed verified that there was a fraud hold on my credit card. This is a valid number. But, I agree- just do not accept the call and call back through their 800 number on the back of the card.

Recieved a phone call from 9257380213 at dinner time.  It was a automated phone number listed as providian? that said this is the fraud department with wamu calling to speak with (my husband name)about an e**on charge for 76.00 today. So at first I didn't think anything of it because he said he got gas but used his credit card-so he did not get gas with the wamu card and the gas he did purchase was only around 65.00?  I told him to **** up the phone NOW!  I said this is a scam and luckly he had not given any info he was still on hold.  So I called wamu 800 number they said there was no pending charges or auths for 76.00 from e**on and there was no fraud flag.  I immediately said close the debit cards and order us new numbers.  I don't know if these people had our card numbers but they had our names and phone numbers and I was not about to take a chance.  Do not give these people info it is a ScAM!!!  .  If you do a reverse phone number lookup there is no address or business name listed.  If you do a reverse lookup on wamu actual 800 number it shows as wamu.  Just thought I would warn anyone who has a wamu debit mastercard.

I get a call from this number everyday ... I do have a WAMU card but they let the call ring once then **** up - they do this a number of times a day ... possible scam? Either way I ignore the call ...

REceive calls, every 15 minutes from 925-738-0249 on my home and cell phone. There is never anyone there. Yes, I have a Washington Mutual Credit Card. No I am not deliquent on my payments. This type of haras*****t has to stop.

Someone from this number s****s calling me at 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. every day including Sunday's.  They never leave a message, and sometimes don't even wait until the last ring before they would go into my voice mail.

Collection agency.  WaMu cards.  Speaks in broken English, said they were in India!!

This number call several times. I called back and found out that it was Washinghton Mutual.
