It's not at&t, of that I'm sure.Scammers, or ignorant game-players, maybe. They have the knowledge now, and the technology, to call you and put someone else's name and number on your caller ID. We've had that happen numerous times. For instance, we used to get calls, ostensibly, from someone in our area code and prefix that had their name and phone number on the caller ID, but the message we got was about selling us something or about credit card stuff.I tried calling them back because I thought it might be a neighbor (same prefix in our town) and the lady was genuinely perplexed and upset that someone had put her name and number on the Caller ID. She lives alone. Nobody but she had been home when the call came in.After that, I got three more calls like that with names and numbers of people who live in my part of town. Called each one back, same situation. Nobody from there had even made a phone call during that time. So, don't assume it's at&t. I did have one instance where a scammer used AT&T's name and number to my Caller ID and when I called AT&T back they could find nobody who had called me. This was when my new, non-published number had just been changed. Nobody had any way of getting my number at that point except AT&T, and yet they insisted they didn't make the call and they could not, and would not, give out my non-pubbed number to anyone. At that time I assumed (and possibly correctly) that the scammer was using block calling (where they simply put in a block of numbers and call them - after configuring their call to show up on Caller ID as AT&T ).Yes, it sounds too ridiculous to be believed, but think about the world we live in today. Ignorance of long term consequences simply abounds. Only an wasted mind would do such things.

Has called several times in the past few days without leaving a message.  But one time I answered.  The woman, with a very strong accent but didn't sound Indian, talked a long time but never told me why she was calling despite my asking her several times what she wanted.  Even after I told her I never respond to phone peddlers and hung up, someone from this number still calls. Caller Id says "AT&T Service Center", but is this East Texas number really AT&T?

Shows AT & T Serv Ctr on called id. Have called 12-15 times this past week. Won't leave message, when I answer they hang up. They are getting to be a real PAIN !!

They called at 8am and I didn't answer. I know how these things work though. They call and call and call. I just called the number back and left a message to put me on there no call list. I didn't even have to talk to a person.

I received several calls on voicemail during the past two weeks, but caller left no message. Can't find out just who caller is. The call is generated from a landline inLufkin TX

they called three times in a row and i did not answer the first two times. i answered the third time and they asked for kimberly gregor and i said she wasnt there and they said ok like they were going to hang up and i said can i ask who is calling and they hesitated and said they were the education authority. i have no idea who they are or what they want and i do not want them calling my phone.

Unknown caller, believed to be a scam after doing a Google search,no message left, they called repeated times in the same day.

This call comes in everyday. Currently have 19 showing on caller ID as proof. Many more before we started saving via caller ID. On 'do not call list', yet, the calls persist.

Call IDs as: AT&T SVC CTR ... Hangs up when answering machine takes call... Calling DAILY, mornings, afternoon and early evening, weekdays and weekends... Probably a sales pitch to "bundle services".

This morning (11/10) I received 3 calls in a row. Did not answer. Previously they call at other times and no one ever there when I answer. Lufkin, TX is not an area I know. Now, I do not answer when I see Lufkin, TX on my phone

I recieved this number on my cell phone at 9:13am this morning..I did some online surveys which I am assuming they would not give out the number since their terms and rules said that they would not. Dead silence on the other end.. Really irritating.

this is at&t, even says so right on the caller id. ever since dsl became available in my area they have not stopped calling, sometimes 4-5 times a day. i have a land-line with at&t so i am exempt from the do not call list with them. after about 20 calls in less than a week i picked up the phone instead of letting it go to the machine and told them to STOP IT! they said they'd put me on the do not call list for "this promotion" but then called back three times the next day. now i am getting hounded by third party companies calling on behalf of AT&T (such as West) . unbelievable. i can tell ya right now. AT&T does not care if you cancel their service over their ridiculous telemarketing practices. it happens all the time - but they grow enough new business using this tactic to make it worth their while. otherwise they would not do it. its the shotgun approach to marketing

They Call 3-5 times a day. They have also called me from other numbers because i have called back and got the same recording. Never leave any messages and then when i answer they ask for some random person... They have asked for 4 different people now. It's so Annoying. Also They are callimg a cell phone which i am charged for each call they make and I have my phone number listed on the DO NOT CALL LIST.

Middle-aged female on the machine. They first ask for Mr. (my surname), then pause. Then they ask for my mother's first name and my surname. The woman seems confused, as though she didn't hear the message stating no one is home. She's definitely American, though. After it became obvious (about 2 minutes of attempts to ascertain whether or not anyone could hear her) that no one was listening, she stated "Thank you for choosing AT&T." The caller ID didn't say who it was. I'd expect a phone company to have more integrity than to keep their name off of their calls. I guess I won't be using them when I get my next cell phone. Idiots working for them.

I receive 3-4 calls per day from this number. No one answers if I pick up and no one leaves a message. The calls begin in the morning and go on throughout the day and night. This has been ongoing for 2-3 weeks.

sound like they are in a factory. They do not talk. Then they will call back again and hang up before my answer machine come on.

"William Smith" has called weekly for months. He is with "AT&T Promotions". I have told him to stop calling and hung up on him, on more than one occasion. Yesterday he called again and told me last week I asked him to call me in a couple of days to change phone service from AT&T to AT&T at higher rates for service the company can't use! The last straw was him asking for my driver's license # or SSN.I have spoken with AT&T customer service and requested to be removed from their telemarketing list. NO LUCK!If AT&T won't stop him, maybe the Feds can.

This number called me four times today, including two hang ups. I told them I was on a Do Not Call List and the 4th time they called the guy on the other end started arguing with me.

When i refused to the Telemarketer, who addressed me that her name was "Shawna" in the introduction, she replyed by saying "have the worst day". That statement was unnecessary and very rude and i would like if some change was affected to prevent future calls by unprofessional telemarketers.

We got a dozen calls from this number yesterday and no one was on the other end.  Today I waited, and a man with a stereotypical Indian-type accent identified himself as William Smith with AT&T, asked to speak with the person in charge of our phone systems.

Bunch of calls from this number in the last week. Never left a message so I now have themsent to my answering machine message that tells them to leave me alone. My message actually says a lot more than that but that's the gist. Then my phone hangs up without allowing a reply. I also report the number to the FTC DNC call complaint site. the last couple of days this number calls.first on feb.23rd around 4pm and they did not leave a message but caller id mentioned coming from newark,nj.the number called again on feb.24 at the same time and i called the number back and said this is education authority please hold and heard music and was hung up on......now looking up business info on who it was said unknown but then also stated coming from landline in texas...i am confused as to who this is calling .

they call 15 to 20 times a day who are they and how can i get them to stop

Called me today, wasn't able to answer. Called them back and it was DeVry Alumni looking to update information. I told them I didn't want phone calls and they supposedly removed me from the list...we'll see if they follow through.BTW, it was a very foreign-sounding male with the name Jack Martin...sure, that's believable LOL!

i googled it and another person said its devry alumni center looking for contact information...and i did go there so sounds legit. just gonna avoid it. they're calling me daily. ugh.
