I received this text : "Good Morning, I just want o notify you about your cat we found. Also did you receive the google verification code of your cat to confirm the picture. Thank you. Clara." I thought it was from a shelter, but no reply after I texted back and didn't answer the phone. I googled the number and came to this page which looks like it's a scam....why would anyone do this???
Posted Lost Cat on Craigslist. Someone claimed to be named Clara said she had my cat. I responded that I was aware of these Scams and Ransom calls from out of state numbers. If she had my cat to take it to the shelter and if it wasn't there by end of day reporting to Local police and FBI. Not sure if FBI or Police even care, but still reporting to them.
I had a craigslist ad for my lost cat and she said she has my cat and that she needed the Google verification code and then she would send me a pic of my cat. I told her I don't believe her and she said, ok bye.
I put an ad on craigs list about a lost dog. Febr 2019. This clown texted me. “I got your dog but I need to know you are real send me the 5 digitd verification code” what these scammer do is register on Craigs list with your phone number and once they got the verification code they high jack your account to put scam ads on CL.
