Just got a text from this number yes****ay asking if I wanted $1500 immediately and to text back. Annoying. Scary. How'd they'd get my cell?

6 mos later, number is still sending texts?

I just got the same message - are these people just sending texts to random numbers and seeing what works? This is insane.

Got text same as above text about optout/reducing debt, but 949-973-1651 (instead of ending 1661).  Reverse number lookup is unpublished from Calif.  An after hours phone call to # is full mailbox and no mention of a business name or any other info about who placed the text or who number belongs to.  These texts cost me money !  /  Appears to be survey/sollicator text.

I called AT&T.  They said to text STOP (all in capital letters) and I would not be charged for either text.

Same message as other complaints. Called the number and indeed it answers with "This is Agent Welks of the FBI..... yada yada"

I got the same, and the phone greeting is "This is an FBI agent Welks,,, investigating the complaints..." The phone # is Sprint cell phone registered in Orange Co., CA. FBI in LA does not know about sich an agent. They suggest to send complaints to ic3.gov (cyber crimes).
