JR I have been receiving calls from Portfolio Recovery for years, have no reason to hear from them. They have several numbers that show up on Caller ID as Portfolio Recovery from different states. This is BS.

Tim I called because the heat in our home decided it didn't want to work during the coldest week of the year. I called at 9:15am. They said that they are close to my home and could be there in about 20 mins. By 10:30am, a part was replaced, our heat was up and running and now we are warm and toasty.

Tee Called the number back. It was an automated message. It said my number, then repepated my phone number, had been registered in July, it is now February and I had never before recieved a call from this number. It went on to talk about it had automatically entered me for the daily drawing because I had called them back and gave me some options for my call, I pressed 2 to cancel the service and then it went on to explain the whole drawing and then said to press a number to enter the drawing and continue service or to press the SAME number to cancel! What do I do now? Losers....

Hah, I finally can block these idiots! Thanks to Uniden - they include a block feature on the phone I have (just not sure the limits of how many I can block). Tired here of screening calls and seriously wondering what the point is of having a home phone number anyway? If the phone companies and the FTC did a better job of *****ing down on these companies or bored idiots, perhaps none of us would have to keep sear****g on who's calling us day and night. I have an idea - how about the government shut down the FTC and put the money to good use: our military need better protective equipment when in combat. The FTC is a waste of taxpayer money. I think the public should decide what works and what doesn't and we should have a right to tell the goverment what works and what doesn't......and there's my two cents for the day :)
