We are a state university office and have received repeated robo-calls from this number with a woman's voice telling us she represents Google and that if we do not speak with their representatives they will list us in search results as a closed business (which is, of course, ridiculous, because this is not how Google does business). I pressed 1 to speak to a representative to ask (again) that they remove our number from their list at once. Each live rep has been more rude than the last, and today the guy on the line not only argued with me and refused to give his name, he insisted I was lying because I refused to tell him my name or the name of my business (even though I had already explained to him we were a university office). Report these folks to the Better Business Bureau, but many people do not know they also are able to call the police about such phone harassment. Which is what I will do the next time they call (and they will). Horrible people.

Another scumbag scammer that ignores the Do Not Call List. This is another number that NumberGuru should mark as a spammer so I'm not tempted to pick up the call.

I have received maybe 75-80 calls from several different numbers, all the same people. I have tried everything to stop them, but YOU CAN NOT STOP THESE PEOPLE. So I suggest that we all use a new tact. I am going to try this when I get my afternoon call from them. Accept their service to its fullest extent. Accept the most expensive with all the beels and whistles. Give them an address of the local police department, and abandoned building, whatever. If you give them the address of an enemy, you can kill two birds with one stone.

Well,in a normal situation the do not call automated or service has worked for me in the past, but this is no longer a normal situation. After I had no success in stopping these phone calls, I spent time looking into this. I found out the subscriber of 973-273-7821, 973-273-7820, 410-387-7549 and 973-273-7822 is no longer using these phone number to make calls. Therefore, whoever is calling has illegally inputted these phone numbers into the caller ID which means these phone numbers is being spoofed by an unknown company. Unfortunately, there is no means of determining who is abusing this phone number. This is why the do not call requests hasn't worked as it is impossible for the originating phone company to disable the number from making calls. At this point, the way I stopped these phone calls was to block that number from calling my phone.

I read in another blog entry to call back or call 866-246-7196. I did and it worked to stop the phone calls.

called number back got a recorded message that says if I don't want any calls from them to press #1 then it says it will take off call list in 24 hours then hangs up.
