Spam call from Bank of America to get you to enter you debit/ATM card number.
This number phoned my cell phone, said my Bank of America card was blocked, press 1. Of course I ***g up immediately and deleted the call from cell phone.
Ask me to push 1 to reactivate my account with Bank of America did so but then it asked for my account # to make sure it was correct then asked for security pass code to talk to customer service then ***g up on me. So tried calling back & its disconnected.
DO NOT ANSWER or give any personal information - This is a phishing Robo call claiming my BOA Debit has been frozen due to su****ious activity. Several problems with that--- they called my cell phone which is not listed on the account and the quality of the automated voice was very poor. I immediately ***g up and call the number on the back of my card to verify that the call was NOT from BOA. I placed a watch on the account for safety. DO NOT FALL VICTIM of iden***y theft.
I was just called, informed my "Capital One" CC had been "lost," and to retrieve my card I could press 1 to be transferred to security. I don't use Capital One so I didn't press anything. The voice mail did not repeat itself but instead ***g up on me after 30 seconds.
If possible, when reporting these calls, please include what bank/financial ins***ution they said they were calling from and also the area code of the number they called. This help bank staff keep track and shut down the scams if at all possible.Unfortunately with this one, there isn't much to do since it is a "direct" vishing scam, they are calling people and asking for information right away as opposed to asking for a call back to a particular number (generally toll-free) that can be tracked and shut down.Thank you!
I got same call, asked to press 1 to connect to security
Asked about my new mastercard and I ***g up.
auto call to my unlisted # that my acct was locked, push 1. reported to bank - phishing scam
Just called my cell, robot voice, says to press 1 to "unlock my debit card". Then it wants you to key in your credit card number. Scammers.
